We had John Pirrie of Bluewater Solar and Marine Electrics onboard our boat to sort out a generator/charger issue that I thought was going to be expensive. John used his superior knowledge and experience to track down the problem and helped me to understand it. We enjoyed having him onboard, he was friendly, easy to deal with and reliable. Definitely our go to guy in Nelson for electrical repairs and upgrades.

When we decided to install home solar 5 years ago I emailed 3 companies asking for proposals. Jon responded quickly (I’m still waiting to hear back from one National outfit!) and arranged a site visit where he discussed options which he followed up with a comprehensive proposal accompanied by information on each component. The work was carried out very competently with the only issue some problems with the reporting. Jon called in and despite the test equipment claiming all was fine he fitted a new plug to the cable which sorted it.Nearly 2 years ago we wanted to capture more early sun and increase our generation. The only real solution was panels on our seperate garage which is quite a few metres from the house array. No problem as the original system allowed expansion as promised.Easy to work with, listens to clients and explains things clearly.I have no hesitation at all recommending this business.

Our launch now has an efficient solar panel and an inverter charger plus galvanic isolator installed. Thanks Jon for the professional input and making sure all the settings were correct and everything safely installed.

Jon has worked for me three times in the last five years. Installed original solar panels, later moved the inverter and later sourced a Tesla battery and signed off a panel upgrade and battery system.
