Alpenhorn Motel

We arrived late to Te Anau and was looking for accommodation for the night. The AlpenHorn Motel turned up in a goggle search. So we rang the number on the reception door and the owner came within 5minutes to show us a room. The 1st room had an issue but was quickly rectified with an alternative room.

Enjoy my stay at Alpenhorn Motel nice room, near town which does not take long, a place to park your car or motor bike outside your room.Would stay there again.

Here for work reasons, rooms are gd size, clean, have all the basics u need in it , has laundry services available,Happy to be here in Te Anau

Paid in advance for two nights, February 5 and 6, and was unable to physically reach the property because of road closures caused by extreme weather. I tried calling the motel at least 4 times on the morning of the 5th, and left messages that were never returned. I have just learned that they have refused to refund any of my prepayment, in effect double dipping as I’m sure they charged the people who couldn’t leave, for the same room I already paid for.I appreciate it was a difficult time for them, but this decision on their part won’t enhance their reputation with the travelling public.

Older type motel ,we had five family members in our party nice to have room for all of us but the oven didn't work only the hot plates. only one saucepan and a larger frying pan no BBQ cooking for 4 people was a challenge and not hot water at all.Our credit card was charged before we arrived

Nothing too flash. Fairly clean and tidy. Close to the lake and centre of town. Beds had a bit mileage on them and the shower was a bit of a challenge.It served its purpose for the 2 nights we were there but I don’t think I would stay there for a longer period.

Rooms and facilities basic. Close to Te Anau township and lake.

Lovely quiet place to stay in The Anau. Room had everything we needed including a 2 ring stove. Room was large with separate kitchen and bathroom.
