Good coffee as always but today had a run in with a very rude and racist staff member - the woman with the short blonde hair, multiple piercings. We had grabbed some subways as takeaway and were waiting on a few coffees. Our subs were in a paper bag - we were not opening or eating them, simply browsing the store and waiting on the coffees. She kept constantly eyeing us in a very weird manner and later walked upto us and said we’d have to leave the store solely because we had a subway paper bag and box in our hand. It made no sense because not once did we even open it or try to eat it on their premises, we were only there for our coffees. Lots of people had lots of packages in their hand but she only seemed to have an issue with us. Did she expect us to wait for coffees outside? Perhaps they shouldn’t have taken our order in the first place if they didn’t want to serve us..Felt very racially targeted. Would suggest improving behaviour of that specific staff member, everyone else was lovely!Edit: Adding three extra stars to my review as I’m happy that it has been taken seriously and dealt with. We have been customers for five years, really do love your coffee and the rest of your team members were lovely so we’ll be back :) thanks

My fiancée and I are visiting from Australia and yesterday our NZ friend took us for coffee and cake at this beautiful store, located in gorgeous little Geraldine.We fell in love with the cake special of the day - a chocolate cherry cake. It was just divine and we haven’t stopped talking about it! Perfectly paired with a cup of peppermint tea and the most beautiful forest outlook.Thank you for making such a beautiful store and products (we buy your jam back home!).

Outstanding foods, great service with beautiful atmosphere and decoration. Always stop at Barkers Eatery on the way South.

Biased comment as I only go there when on holidays and in great mood but... what a nice place, amazing food and all those sauces and jams and syrups to try along your order, oh! Perfect service, too.

Stopover here for a quick bite. Had a pork belly pie while my partner had some scones. Lots of jams and spreads for you to try out as well at the shop. They sell a good variety of jams , spreads , drinks etc.worth a visit to check it out.

We stopped over for a coffee and hot chocolate. Their place is huge with tasting stations so you get to sample their juices, jams and chutneys. Great staff, always smiling. Delicious hot chocolate and good coffee.

What an awesome place to eat. Modern near new building with a picturesque outlook, high ceilings creating a light an airy atmosphere. We had the platter for two. Very nice ans just enough food. The beer and wine selection was good but not over the top with too many choices. They also had available all of their pickles and relishes to try with you meal for free as well as free cordials from their range. Service was great, we waited around 15 minutes but they were very busy; worth the wait.Staff were super friendly and tickets clean and tidy. Well done.

We had the best experience here. It was busy but not too busy. Very nice staff. Good coffee but even more so an abundance of nice food and pastries. The shop with local products was filled with fairly priced products. If only we were allowed to take food on the plane we would have definitely bought some. Also kid friendly with some toys and high seeds. Highly recommended.
