Karla Marie Ceramics

We booked a private class for x6 people for our work Christmas party and had a wonderful time at Karla Marie's pottery studio with Karla and Lulu. The space is great with plenty of room, and the workshop was run so well. Karla and Lulu were very helpful, patient, and guided us to make amazing creations within the time we had available. Everyone enjoyed themselves and we can't wait to see what we made in their finished form.

So much fun! Really interesting, great teachers who can share artisanal instructions in empowering ways, and you walk away with a handmade piece. A must do.

We had such an awesome experience with Karla Marie's hand built cup & saucer workshop. My mum was visiting and it was the perfect activity to bring us together and better yet- we each made a gorgeous cup that we can treasure forever! Great music, company & vibes- thanks again team!

Today I spent a fascinating, challenging, yet mellow two hours at a 'taster' class for throwing clay on a wheel. The teacher, Bella, was patient, constructive and so very knowledgeable!Many art and craft instructors are great practitioners, but struggle with how to explain their knack, or break down their talent into steps. Bella has the rare skill of providing clear staged instructions, while allowing each person to find their own way to influence the clay. She offered several different hand techniques to achieve each stage.I was a total beginner, and utterly botched my first piece despite Bella's several attempts to correct me! Yet I never felt condescended to. I didn't think I'd have time to make a second piece, yet somehow I did. It really was completely engrossing, fun, and achievable. I felt it was excellent value for money.

Karla created a space for my son and I to celebrate his 10th birthday. It was last minute and both Lulu and Karla we're more than accommodating.The space and equipment and vibe in general is like stepping into the part of your brain where you allow yourself to be creative even if it doesn't come to you naturally (me).Magic moments with my son, and with the guidance and gentle instructions of Karla and Lulu, my son and I were able to create something amazing out of a ball of clay.Please take care of the part of your soul that needs an artistic outlet! Karla knows how to help you access it and she is one of the greatest people I have met.I want to take all my friends there, in fact I did not want to leave!

My daughter and I LOVED the mythical creatures classes. Karla and Greta are so talented and wonderful teachers. Great central Wellington space and the class atmosphere was really supportive and encouraging. The perfect mix of instruction and scope to play and experiment with expert help on hand. Very fun, we are hooked.Definitely recommend.

Karla has cultivated the most incredible environment at her studio. I walked in on day one and instantly felt at home. She has a pragmatic teaching style, and allowed us to dream big and create a variety of amazing pieces over our 6 week course. I will definitely be returning to learn more! Get in while you still can ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Didn’t think I was creative, so used to drift away from art related activities, but then I met Karla. I’ve done two of her course now and she has helped make me feel empowered and confident in my creativity. If you’re looking to tap into your creative side, and don’t know where to start - do her course, you won’t regret it!

Did a Friday night hand building class and loved it. Cute space, heaps of fun, gentle direction. Would do again in a heartbeat.

I have taken several courses and some one-on-one teaching with Karla this year, and it has been truly an amazing experience.Karla is an incredibly knowledgeable and patient teacher, and is always positive and encouraging. She has created a warm, welcoming and playful space in her studio that really reflects her as a person.Karla really cares about and supports her students learning.
