Nice place but not much atmosphere. Duty manager just there to watch sport on the TV so no music playing.Burgers were rare at best, barman said they look ok but I'll check with kitchen.Chicken was seared on outside and completely raw throughout the inch thick tenders.Then got attitude when I received bill and asked for the 2 soft drinks to be complimentary for the raw food.Whole experience a let down for our anniversary lunch and would never recommend this restaurant.

Food was very average. The salmon dish is a waste of time as you can see the ragout it is served on pretty much looks like a tin of tomatoes chucked on a plate. I was a bit worried about eating here as I saw most diners still had food on their plates when their table was cleared. The only plus was the service and the chicken nibbles (don't expect wings) but for the price of them, definitely not worth it.

The food, the staff,the coffee and the beer have always made this place a joy to visit. Been here many times over the years and it's always been extremely good (also great quiz nights when these are in season).Today it was just for a quick beer. I tried (a staff recommendation) my first ever Monteith dark beer - touched a spot. The place always feels real, happy and patron focused. Thanks folks, one couldn't ask for better. Awesome local pub where the owner knows you by name. The only downside was that the fish was a little oily, but we did visit early on in the day so I'm sure it would have been better once the kitchen was pumping. I'll definitely be back next time I'm back in Rangiora

We've been here for drinks before, but never dinner. Last night was our first experience and, based on that, we will definitely be back! The service was outstanding, the food was amazing (and we were delighted to discover kids eat free on Mondays and Tuesdays too!) and we had a thoroughly enjoyable time.

Nice welcoming venue, great staff so good with kids. Food good steaks need to be bigger lol. I just a big eaters but all in all.... good spot

We had an excellent meal there last night. My daughter ordered the scallops , She noted she was allergic to Raw carrots and oranges and happy to skip the salad that came with it, if this made it difficult. The waiter said we will make a new salad from scratch, is no problem. She said it was wonderful some places make a real issueI had the roast venison shanks which was gorgeous , the sauce was fab you.My husband had the Farmers platter, he could not eat it all, beautiful beef and yourshire puddings, pork belly bites were delish and sirloin steak and bacon. Definitely going back
