Northland Regional Council | Northland Regional Council manage the air, land, freshwater and coastal resources of the Northland region. We also co-ordinate civil defence, transport and economic development. Our mission is to work with our people and partners to create a healthy environment, strong economy and resilient communities. In addition to all our normal mahi, we’re particularly focussing our energies on three priority areas that our communities have told us they care deeply about: water quality; reducing pests (animals, plants and aquatic invaders); and providing flood protection for our vulnerable communities. Your regional council is made up of nine elected councillors, including a chairman, an appointed chief executive officer (CEO) and around 210 full-time and part-time staff.
