My husband and I ate here for New Years Eve and had a pretty underwhelming experience. We were seated right away because I had a reservation, and should have known the attention to detail would be subpar when my name was misspelled on the table reservation printout. We received drinks quickly but the rest of the was pretty poor. Our waitress and waiter didn’t appear to know the menu very well - we had to explain several times that we wanted a certain number of oysters and she thought you could only order in a different number than what was printed on the menu until corrected by a different staff member. We were also unable to add a seafood pot to our dinners and weren’t sure why. Our dishes came out of order and after our second pre-course was dropped off after our main, we didn’t see any waitstaff return to our table for 45 minutes, despite empty early course dishes taking up space. The food was pretty average for the price but nothing was outright bad. If you’re only in town for a night or two, I would recommend looking elsewhere.

I can say that our experience at CBK in Rotorua was excellent. The food and drinks we ordered were delicious and the staff were very friendly and attentive. The service was quick, which made for a smooth and enjoyable dining experience. The atmosphere and ambiance of the restaurant were also top-notch, adding to the overall great experience. I would highly recommend CBK to anyone looking for great food and drinks in a welcoming and relaxed atmosphere.

Stone grill lamb was tender and you get to finish searing it on your hot stone right at your table. The huntsman breakfast had generous portions and everything in it was delicious. Service was a bit slow though.

ABSOLUTELY DISAPPOINTING! Definitely recommend not going here. We ordered 2x dishes of fish and chips and this is the worst fish and chips we've ever had. The fish tasted bitter and was uneatable. We told the staff and they didn't seem to care. They only offered us half price on the dishes which we clearly did not eat. Customer service was poor and they were so adamant that the fish was fine, after we had told them to try it themselves. Then the manager said he didn't eat fish! (Conveniently.....). Not to mention, we had asked another family who ordered the same dish, and they agreed that the fish was no good. Honestly not worth your time or money.

Great overall. The dumplings were delicious. My brisket was abit overcooked but the cocktails were yummy.

Good god this was a good burger. If you are reading this and aren't going to eat here you are insane. I went home and felt up my wife after just to release some of the energy I got from this place.

I ordered some items from the menu that was in front of me - the waiter confirmed and accepted the order. After 10 minutes the waiter came back and said one of the items was no longer available. This was fine, I ordered an alternative. A further 30 minutes later when the food was coming out, I was then told that what I initially ordered wasn’t on the menu. After I insisted that it was in fact on the menu that was in front of me, the manager refuted what I was saying, and shoved a (different) menu in my face to prove me wrong. I had NEVER been to this restaurant before, so I wouldn’t know what they had to offer previously.Instead of owning up initially, and apologizing (I would have been happy with this if it were the initial attitude), they went through the menus, took out the one that was ‘wrong’ (then shoved it in the drawer,) and insisted that it was definitely my mistake.The staff had informed my friends dining with me that the menu had been changed on Friday and their chefs were still getting used to the new one (because one of my friends had been given the wrong order as well,) but then later we were told that the menu had been changed yesterday, not Friday... Still, not outright owning up to the mistake.The manager was ‘nice’ enough to not charge for the bowl of kumara chips that I got, but somehow I ended up paying $23.50 for half a jug of coke.We absolutely won’t be going back, and will make sure our friends, family, and colleagues know that they’ll be treated like sh!t, and ripped off.

Wow totally new menu and both my wife and i tried 2 totally different dishes. She chose the Stone Grilled chicken and i had the whisky infused Beef Brisket with glazed carrots and duck fat cube potatoes. The nicest meal in a while. Place was really busy which likely explained the need to ask when our meals were coming.
