Sudima Kaikoura

Was there for work....would have preferred a chair as opposed to stool, wasnt the most comfy when I had to catch up on some work...back support would have been better. Beds very comfy, nice bathroom; gorgeous view....got the impression they are short staffed.

My son and me originally from Shanghai. My son study in Auckland. This is school holiday travel. We spend 4 nights at Kaikoura.Sudima is An international standard hotel with the beautiful sea at your feet. The staff are friendly and welcoming. The facilities are brand new. Parking is on a first-come, first-served basis. The hotel restaurant is worth a try.But there are some parts that I didn't expect, I didn't look carefully at the room facilities when I booked. The refrigerator in the room does not have a freezer, only cool. There are no microwave , induction cookers, tableware and other things that are standard in most New Zealand hotels. That mean can not do any light cooking or laundry.

Staff at reception on arrival and departure, were pleasant, couteous and helpful.Lovely location - our room was very special...sea view...waves crashing over rocks to the beach. Wonderful to hear throughout the night.

What a location, could hear the waves crashing and we watched the sunrise from our balcony. New, clean and fresh. Great onsite restaurant. Would have liked the signs to have an English translation. Highly recommend.

Beautiful hotel. Meals are amazing at Hiku restaurant. Service exceptional. Rooms were lovely but felt they needed a mirror and some color. Bathroom was beautiful but lacked a fan for the steam which surprised us. Other than that an awesome experience!

Lovely Hotel and lovely ambience but rooms are so dusty for a hotel just starting 8 months ago housekeeping should do better. Other than this negative comment Loved the hotel overall. The meals at Hiku were awesome.the service staff were great and well knowledgeable .The room dusty by the headboard and on the television specially when we turned on the heat pump could see the dust particles as my son is allergic to dust.Other than that a great experience. Just thought would share from my experience as a hospitality professional.

What a fantastic place to stay in Kaikoura - I brought my kids here for 3 nights during the Easter school holidays and had the best time. We can’t wait to come back again. And I can’t wait to book a weekend here with my husband. Luxurious rooms, great friendly staff, awesome heated pool…and an amazing chef at the in-house restaurant! The best smashed avo on toast I’ve ever had, also catered perfectly for my fussy kids. I can’t rate and recommend this highly enough.

Beautiful new hotel very. Close to the water. Very nicely decorated. The only downfall is when looking out the big windows you can see a heap of dust and dead flies, clearly the architect didn't think about how to clean when designing the windows. The restaurant and bar are lovely, Expensive but all hotels are so not really a negative. The staff were very helpful, 1 young waiter forgot hubby's drink but once mentioned it was sorted quickly.

Excellent customer service goes a long way. I stayed here after a long drive from Cromwell. Late-ish check in was easy, my room had a light on and the temperature set. The dinner was also delicious, and has some kind, friendly, patient staff too. I would love to stay here again.
