This is a beautifully scenic spot at the top of the North Island. It is very busy during summer so be prepared for crowds. Also remember to bring plenty of sunscreen and water as you will be hot and thirsty after the walk to the the lighthouse!

Not many spaces for bigger vehicles which is odd considering they must get heaps of buses and campervans. But the view is totally amazing

This car-park is at the very end of State Highway One, New Zealand's main highway which you can start the walk to Cape Reinga. The car-park is very large but it can get very busy, especially with tourist buses as they take up half the car-park. We didn't have trouble finding a park. There is also toilets and a drinking fountain to get water from. There were also a couple of local guides if you need to ask for information. All areas have wheelchair access. Make sure you get fuel at Awanui before heading to the Cape, as there are no other places to fuel up.
