Motu Falls
Motu Falls.... raging water .... and such brute force. One of my top 5 waterfalls I have visited in New Zealand. Direction to Motu falls is easily displayed. few kms of gravel road but not a bad road. I took my light car and she did well. Best time to travel - when there is lots of rain. We were stoked with the sheer volume of water this waterfall catered.

Cool, calm and inviting. Plenty of outdoor experience within safety, open air and natural surroundings for free. Enjoy nature, freedom, a healthy surrounding and room to breathe.

The last 5kms is on gravel road, and it has a small parking area. There is tables and seating but no toilets. The waterfall is right at the car park so it is very easy to get to just walk onto the swing bridge and you'll see waterfall.

Definitely a gem in a very remote, back country natural inland. It’s not very popular n therefore retains its very nature. It’s a very long n winding gravel road that means low speed driving. There’s no car park n u have to park at the entrance that’s just on the road side. U are warned not to drive new n nice cars as I did, you’ll have a very dusty car when u are back home!
