This was a great tour! Louis is friendly and very knowledgeable about the plants and animals, the geography and the history of Piha. He led me through some great trails including a trip to a beautiful waterfall where I took a dip, and a trip into a cave to see some penguins. He shared some snacks that he had brought along and we had some great conversations.Louis was also very flexible and understanding when I had to move the date of my trip back due to a cold. And on the way back, he very thoughtfully dropped me off near a transit station that significantly reduced the time it took me to get home.I would definitely recommend this tour to anybody.

Amazingly stunning tour provided by Louis.He provides towels for the waterfall swim, healthy snack, fruit, water and takes photos as you walks in front of him, which he kindly air drops back to you. His knowledge and passion for Piha beach comes over strongly and his tour is well recommended. Do yourself a favour when in Auckland - book this tour!

Booked Louis and this tour after docking in Auckland post cruise early in the morning. Communication was great and everything went as planned. Was a lovely hike, perfect weather, nice vehicle and we felt taken care of the entire time. He dropped me off at the airport for my late afternoon flight. A perfect last day in NZ!

I loved the adventure Louis organised. I had an amazing opportunity to see Piha from aspects only local people could show you. All of the walking and hiking were full of his stories and jokes. He is such a sweet and careful person, who is nice to be around. I really recommend his tours - a pleasant atmosphere, safe driver, amazing views and Earthing!

Fabulous day with a wonderful guide. Louis took us on a glorious hike that we wouldn’t have been able to find without him. Excellent transportation too! Highly recommend!

Louis is the guy you want at the helm. The solo Piha expedition was beyond my best expectations. I got to swim Kitekite falls! I took in views that were life affirming. I enjoyed every second. He took great care of me, preparing me for any potential hazards in advance. Thanks to him I got to feel like Piha was my home today and I was just out hiking with an old friend. That's magic. They say you should seek discomfort; for growth, expanding and simply 'living a little more'. Barefoot Tours offered me the perfect balance between a leisurely, cruise day and some rejuvenating experiences, spontaneous gatherings and hidden gems of natural beauty.

I took this tour on the first of my 7 days in New Zealand and was very glad I did! It gave me a strong foundation in understanding the layout of Auckland and its many connecting pieces. Louis essentially took us on a thoughtful path that circled the islands offering various perspectives of Auckland's landmarks. I felt like I began to understand Auckland's complicated layout at the end of my tour. We were shuttled around to many beautiful neighborhoods each with its own history & stories. The ride was super comfortable inside Louis's beautiful Mercedes Sprinter van with spectacular views through the large glass windows. The tour itself was broken up into rides throughout the neighborhoods, pit stops at landmarks and short hikes in nature or to reach a breathtaking view. I also enjoyed the area that Louis took us to go have our independent lunch. There are many awesome restaurants in that area that I'm so glad to discover and will return during my trip to explore further. Louis was super thoughtful and even offered us cold bottled water, snacks, fruits and sunscreen! If you're looking for a great overview tour of Auckland, this is the experience to book. You will not regret it!
