It is hard to write a review that would do this restaurant justice and present a faithful account of the culinary delights that are in every dish that they serve.I once thought that the best curry houses in the world were to be found in the culturally rich streets of Birmingham, England, but I was blown away by what I experienced in the small provincial town of Geraldine, New Zealand.The fresh ingredients and small batch cooking that is consistently at an exceptionally high standard is matched only by the warmth and genuine care that the owners and staff bring to the whole balance of a great experience that demands frequent visits.Such high standards are hard to maintain yet this is what is always on offer.Thank you Sam and Dhillon for bringing your passion and excellence into this humble little town.

We decided to have dinner at Royal India on a whim and we were delighted with the meal! Kind staff, welcoming atmosphere and simply excellent dinner!! (I repeat myself but our meal was really very very very good)

We are hiking the through the country and came to Geraldine for a one night stay and I’m glad we chose Royal India as everything was superb. We had multiple meals between the five of us and we thoroughly enjoyed each of the meals and the deserts. A very tidy, relaxing environment with a bit of taste of life in India via the TV monitor while you wait for the food to arrive. The staff were very helpful and knowledgeable to help us choose the best courses and we are super happy. It’s not every Indian restaurant gets a 5 star review, but this one sure does.

Absolutely fantastic food! Onion bhaji's and spectacular lamb chops to start, then mango chicken, butter prawns, beef vindaloo, and a fish dish with buttery, garlic naan. Superbly cooked, and I'm gonna say it, the best Indian food I've ever had in NZ. Service staff were grand, crockery came out super hot, and the drinks list was good. Crazy extensive whiskey options! Book, because it's pretty busy. Definitely going back.

I didn't not expect this would be there in Geraldine being a town towards country. Inside was nicely decorated and presented. My highlights were the chair mocked a front of a car and the deer. There is a bar too for a drink. Food was great specially pizza naan and chicken naan, chicken cheese samosa were the best of the lot. Though they don't offer tea, upon my request they made one though wasn't the best tea. Parking would be the issue I guess. As far as I figured out, only limited street parking was available.

Stopped at Geraldine for lunch on the way to Christchurch from Mt Cook. They have great value lunch sets. Had the Butter Chicken and Mutton Rogan Josh, bother were delicious. It came with both Naan and rice. Just the Naan would be filing enough for most.

Some of the best Indian food I have ever had! And in bloody ol Geraldine of all places. We had dinner at Royal India, and everything was great. Service was fantastic, polite and friendly. The food was absolutely scrumptious, and the staff bring you warmed plates before each course! Their Naan is off the charts tasty and they nailed the rice. All round five stars for the team at Royal India Geraldine, and you dear reader, should definitely check them out!

Authentic Indian food with great aromatic flavours. My partner and I had Royal Special Platter (great option if you can't decide), lamb madras, naan bread, and s few drinks.Atmosphere was great. There was kids play ground at back for people who have kids.

A huge thanks to the efficient and exemplary staff who seamlessly cared for our large group of 15. Hot plates and excellent food served. Superb evening had. We will all be recommending this gem of Geraldine.

Real good food and very accommodating staff. We omitted to mention my wife is dairy intolerant and they replaced her meal without any fuss. Highly recommend this place.
