There were so many baby seals and mothers. Great car parking and safe walls along the side of the viewing area

A very well made viewpoint overlooking a thriving seal colony just about 25km north of Kaikoura on SH1 driving towards Picton.There is ample parking space. Nice views of the sea. The taller rocks are home to some Spotted Shags as well along with the ubiquitous Gulls. I have stopped every time while traveling down this road and have always seen plenty of seals and the above mentioned birds.

Great view of the seals, just make sure you parallel park on the sea side to fit more cars.

If you dont like walking, this is a great option to park up and see seals right there. Huge carpark, just 10-15mins drive out of Kaikoura. Plenty of seals, close enough to zoom in and watch the baby pups play in the water and chase each other.

Truck parking for those compulsory half hour logbook breaks with awesome views of the rugged Kaikoura coastline.Hundreds of seals and pups clearly visible from the viewing platforms. Ample car parking.
