Don't like it I don't care if they see this I don't like it at all

Not a good look for a school on the news huh. Principal needs to be fired after what just came out. Disgusting thing to say. Just as bad as the little dweeb bullies at this school. Grow up kids you'll soon be in the real world.

Incompetent board and management. Students are not safe, particularly those on the autism spectrum. Media will be in touch. Hope you enjoy the free PR coming your way.

Neat and quiet though some construction stuff are going on.

Good sized and generous hearted Year 7 to 13 secondary school in Ashburton, about 1200 students. Very helpful staff.

An interesting session at the college auditorium. It has a great future once the renovations are done

DO YOU TEACHERS EVEN CARE ABOUT BULLYING? IT SEEMS LIKE YOU DON'T BECAUSE NONE OF YOU EVEN DO ANYTHING ABOUT IT OH YEAH WHAT ABOUT THE VAPES AS WELL HUH? ABOUT HALF OF THE STUDENTS ARE USING THEM AT SCHOOL. NOT GOOD ENOUGH FIX THE SYSTEM!!!!!!

We are fortunate that our children are self-motivated, enjoy study and get on with their homework and are doing well in college. But that is not because of Ashburton College as they have only been there a short time since we moved back home after being overseas for some years.I struggle with the concept of the softly softly discipline touch which is slowly creating a small percentage of little monsters throughout NZ schools, of course, this is not the Ashburton College fault, and experts will put the blame back on the parents.However what gets under my skin at Ashburton College is the following which personally is high in a Risk Management Plan. (Do they do this at schools)• 15-30 minutes time out in rain, hail or sunshine with fire alarm being set off by students on a regular basis, countless times throughout the year ( put a dollar value on that)• Bullying issues (I know what your thinking, yes it happen in all schools, but that doesn’t mean its acceptable)• A tiny but slight hint of racialism within some students• Drugs within the classroom.• I didn’t mention anything about weapons.Taking a stand against the negative and turning that around towards the positive has to come from the school itself, don’t wait for the Ministry of Education, lead and show rather than indifferenceGetting the fundamental basics of education and internal control and reducing your high risk is far more important than the end of year ball trying to squeeze you little princess into that designer gown for the photo shoot on the red carpet.For those students who aren’t doing so well at school through possible no fault of their own or because of no or very little parent support, then they are totally screwed.For an increasing amount of these kids, the end of year college balls only increases the frustration, pain & rage of failure while becoming just another statistic on a government report. It becomes them and us sort of attitude, nothing new there then. Those that can afford and those that cant.For these kids, the gap between those who can and those who cant is always getting bigger. Tidy your act up Ashburton College and lead the way rather than follow like lambs heading off to the freezing works!!A School / Teacher Responsibility to the Students• To input Knowledge• To nurture them• Becoming a guardian to them by driving away ignorance with the brightness of their knowledge• Guiding the student on to the path of fulfilment and contentmentPerhaps that too much to ask for in these modern times!!!!

I WENT HERE IN 1997. JUST AS BAD NOW AS IT WAS THEN. TRASHBURTON COLLEGE IS A DISGRACE TO CANTERBURY AND SHOULD BE SHUT DOWN.
