Carrick Winery & Restaurant

Went for the Valentine’s Day degustation. The food was delicious but the servings were tiny. I also would have preferred my food to be served on a plate for each person, rather than a shared plate, but perhaps that would have looked too small on the plate. We have been many times before and loved it, but I would not do a set menu again.

We had a lovely lunch from the Carrick Pizza caravan today with great friendly service from the staff. It was also great to receive extra help from the owners when we had an accident with a Pizza. Love the views and atmosphere and as we are locals will visit often and take all our visitors to Cromwell with us.

Nice meal and delicious wines. The views are also quite nice. It can be quite busy during lunch time so book ahead. A little on the pricey side but a recommended stop during an Otago wine tour.

Wonderful food and wines in a glorious setting. Very friendly, welcoming and helpful staff. A choice of fine dining that requires booking in advance or drop in for pizzas and wine.

Lovely, lovely, lovely oh and did I say lovely. A wonderful birthday lunch, great food and great service with a spectacular view, as other reviews say it can be busy so I recommend to book - a must stop if on a tour of the vineyards (or for that matter any reason).

I had high expectations for this winery after tasting their wines and having friends and colleagues recommend it... These expectations were smashed. The almost 1-hour drive was soooo worth it. The scenery around Bannockburn in the autumn was beautiful. Once there, we were greeted by the bubbly and passionate Charlie who gave a wonderful cellar door tasting. Sadly one of my faves, the Billet-Doux was sold out, but really not surprised as it's one of the best wines at its price point. The cellar door wines were lovely but the really fun begins with their Pinot Noirs. With their Pinot Noir tasting flight, it was magical. The Magnetic was beautiful, the Arthur's Vineyard was stunning, and the Excelsior was hands down one of the best wines I've ever had. They had a limited menu as it was off-season but their salmon board was so tasty. Will definitely be back for a restaurant experience. Then there's the view... Wow! The Restaurant view is something out of a fairytale and I'm sure each season offers equally picturesque views for patrons.Can't wait for my wines to arrive! Thanks to the team for the wonderful hospitality. Keep doing what you're doing!

A wonderful experience within the most Fabulous environment. Hosts were warmly welcoming with good wines and a most enjoyable platter. I will be back in March 2023. Valerie Attrill

A memorable experience for our family! The hospitality, wine and surrounds were hard to beat. One of the best wine tastings we have had with incredibly attentive and knowledgeable staff. Could not have asked for better!

We stopped at Carricks on our way back from Cornish Point trail ride.Location - the restaurant has a lovely outlook and plenty of green space for kids to play on. It looked like they may also have picnic mats for those that would like to sit on the lawn and take in the views.Food - we ordered the duck confit and lamb racks. The duck confit was refreshing and the lamb racks were nicely frenched and prepared. Both meals were yummy.Service - generally the service was good but the wait for our food took about 45 minutes. This took the sparkle off what would have been a lovely experience. As a result, we dropped our rating to a 4 star.
