Taupo Sailing Adventures
We were lucky enough to go out on the lake on a really hot, clear and calm day, and it was a highlight of our time in Taupo. It's about 1 hour to the carvings, but en route you're served drinks and pizza and enjoying the views.The carvings themselves are really cool, and the skipper told us quite a bit about them. We then stopped the boat and went swimming for around 30 minutes, which was amazing! The water was so clear and even when it was deep you could see right to the bottom. We managed to catch a breeze on the way back so sailing for just over an hour was really peaceful. Thanks for a great afternoon!

Taupo Sailing Adventures
It was amazing! Big thank you to David, our skipper and host for his patience and hospitality. We motored to the carving place, viewed it and had a nice swim in the lake. While sailing back, we viewed a stunning sunset, and everyone felt warm because of the blankets provided. Pizza and drinks was a nice bonus.

What a great day! We absolutely loved this and it’s 100x better then those motor boats that speed over the lake with 50 onboard and speed back in an hour!We had a great chat along the way and learned about the area of Taupo and lake David was a great skipper and even got to meet his family! Had some pizza and a beer (which is a great touch), unfortunately the weather didn’t permit much sailing but there is nothing anyone can do about that! Anyone who gives this place less than 5/5 needs their head checked! Loved it and would do it again in a heartbeat!

What a beautiful trip on Kindred Spirit. Dave the skipper is fun, has a good sense of humour and delivers. The trip is so well priced to include such a nice boat, food, and activity. The swimming is great too. We couldn’t have asked for a better trip!

Taupo Sailing Adventures
On Sunday morning, it was a lot calmer than yesterday, and it was a great sailing day. It was a great sail, we motored to Acacia Bay, then up went both sails, and we headed to the Maori carvings. Dave, the captain, took us within metres of the rock carvings and turned the yacht around in all directions so everyone could take plenty of photos. It rained a bit, going black, but the hot coffee and Milo warmed us up. Thankyou Dave for a great morning on a wintery Taupo day.

Taupo Sailing Adventures
We had a fantastic afternoon sailing with Dave on lake Taupo. We did the 1pm “Taste of Taupo” tour, which was a 2.5 hour sail, including pizza and drinks for $69. This was great value. The sail to the carvings and back was very peaceful. Dave was a great skipper, who shared some interesting info along the way. We had to change our date due to weather and Jess was lovely and accomodating on the phone and made sure to get us on board a different trip.Great customer service and a great sailing experience that I would highly recommend to anyone.

We had an amazing evening on the sunset tour. You get half a pizza per person (ish) and one drink. I think you are supposed to get 2 drinks but it was never served. the guide was friendly and knowledgable but didn’t talk too much either!

Taupo Sailing Adventures
I’ve been out on the Kindred Spirit to see the Māori rock carvings a couple of times now. Dave and Jess absolutely love what they do and getting out on the lake in a sailboat is an awesome way experience the Great Lake Taupo. Always a pleasure.

Best activity yet. I really wanted to see the rock carvings when I came to taupo but did everything but. This time I booked The taste of taupo" on the kindred spirit. It was either this or kayaking but my family of four didn't want to kayak. I'm so glad we chose this. We recieved a box of pizza between 2 of us with some to spare. We motored a little out to the open before the sails went up and we sailed most of the way until the wind dropped and we motored again. We got a can of soft drink or beer when we got there. Enjoyed the carvings with commentary going back around a few times so we could all see it closely. Stopped for a swim then motored back as we were running a little late for the next lot. Our skipper was top notch. Very friendly
