Northbrook Wetlands Just five minutes’ drive from the centre of Rangiora, what a quiet and peaceful, lovely place to spend time have a walk and sitting and listing to nature. Many ducks, Coots, Shags. There are clean public toilets here, car parking

Love this place, the history around it is very interest, specially the ponds that are purifying the water.

A lovely walk which I would score higher if it didn't have the ridiculous no dog rule. Imagine how frustrating it would be to be a dog owner and live close by! Typical NZ.I ignore the rule anyway because my dog is on a leash and I pick up after him so it makes zero difference to anyone or anything. I also very rarely see anyone else on the walk.

Really good walk, easy track, nice late in the day in winter with sunset colours over water.

Amazing walk around the Northbrook Wetlands. The Gravel path is well maintained and the wildlife is spectacular. Walk is about half an hour return and loops over itself making it fun. The native trees make the place feel as your in the bush.Highly recommend and is well worth it.

I great repurpose of an old water treatment plant. Nice short walking tracks, picnic area and lakes with wildlife. Right in the suburbs of Rangiora. A bit of a hidden gem. Also no dogs allowed. A great spot to take kids out to stretch their legs without burning them out.

Very nice walk. Very relaxing surroundings. Most of the walk does not allow dogs though due to the native birds

The Northbrook Wetlands was once the site of early European industry including; flax mills, a brewery, fellmongery and a tannery. In recent years restoration of this area has created an extensive wildlife and recreation reserve. The rare heron, kingfisher and fantail birds are known to visitA track around the wetlands takes 30 minutes return. The track is smooth and ideal for prams and kids on bikes as well as being wheelchair accessible. There are information boards, picnic stops and toilets along the way.

Loved it but I think some of the trees etc need thinning. Most of the walking paths have thick hedge like vegetation either side and you have no view of what's beyond
