Mountain Heights Lodge

Loved the stay at this place, nice and clean. At the back of the lodge there were alpacas that we could feed. The owners give us some food for them as well. Was a beautiful weekend. Even it is on the main road is not noisey at all. Rooms and bathroom are really spacious. And the kitchen is very well furnished.

Great price rooms with everything you need for a weekend trip to the snow. 3 beds with blankets and towels all provided. The hostess was lovely and was all good with us arriving after 9pm. We just had to let her know in advance when we would arrive. Will definitely stay here again.

Karl and Maria are amazing hosts. We were treated like welcome friends rather than guests. We only wish we had more time to do karls quad bike adventure. Loved Maria's tour of the huge rooms in the lodge and can't wait to stay with friends on a ski trip. Our rooms were clean, tidy and warm. The beds were bliss and I had the best sleep in ages. And finally, can't thank Karl and Maria enough for looking after our dog while we did the tongariro crossing. When they advertise pet friendly they really mean it. Cant wait to stay again.

We had a great time staying with Maria and Karl. The room was brilliant and the facilities - including hot tub - were amazing. Our hosts were extremely warm and welcoming and they had lots of local knowledge about the surrounding areas. We had many a good sunset from the view out of our window. The bed we stayed in was comfortable and we slept great.We have stayed in a few different places in national park whilst we've been hiking or skiing on previous trips, and this was definitely the best. We would both recommend.

Stunning views you wont find elsewhere, lovely owners with amazing customer service and extensive knowledge locally. Happy to help, definitely worth a moment in time. Activities for all adventurers on private block.

Gorgeous place with fabulous hosts. Had a big family group come along and they have been very well accommodated. Bonus....not far from the snow peaks of Mount Ruapehu. Very comfortable accommodation and rooms lovely and warm.They have alpacas that you can feed on their acres of luscious land behind the lodge... Great family environment.

Great place to stay halfway stop in the north island the owner were so lovely and helpful even to the point that they heated up your room if you arrived at night like us.continental breakfast was great as well. would highly recommend this place too everyone. Thanks again. 18.03.2022.

An excellent stop over point between Auckland and Wellington or if you're wanting to be in/near the National Park. Very friendly staff, very welcoming and it was great that they welcome dogs too. Our room was clean and spacious and the kitchenette had everything you need to be self-contained. Our room was lovely and warm and we were given access codes to WiFi during our stay. Plenty of parking, which is away from the main road and right outside the door of our motel room and there's a lovely grassed area out the back to walk the dog on, away from the traffic. Motel location just 5 mins car ride to Schnapps, the local bar/restaurant, where we enjoyed a really lovely meal and good atmosphere.
