From the outside, unpretentious. Only booked there because of proximity to motor camp. What a great experience we had. Mary had the salmon, I the steak. Both served to perfection, a really great Sunday evening meal out!!

Looking for an authentic French tart. This is the place for you then! During the day, it operates as a cafe selling authentic French pastries made on premises, coffees, and a range of breakfast meal options. Big breakfast is just over $17 and would satisfy the biggest appetite. The cafe and also an ice cream parlor are open during the day, and the restaurant is open at night. We had morning tea in the cafe, plum tart, ham & cheese croissants, which were delicious and coffees in the morning. Iced coffees weren't impressive, although full of coffee flavor, they were too watery for our palate. We prefer thick and creamy consistency. At night, our group prebooked and went back for a meal in the restaurant. The food was absolutely superb! There is a wide range of starters, entrees , mains, and desserts to choose from. Including a separate pizza menu. Fully licensed, there is also a wide range of wines, available by glass or bottle and spirits, too. As I mentioned, the food was superb, 9 out of 10. Service was also good. Very friendly staff! Prices are average. The only suggestion I have is to play some soft music and dim lights in the restaurant to give some ambience. Of the 20 tables available, only 2 were not reserved, so I highly recommend you book beforehand. The cafe & restaurant is located on the main road into Orewa and across the street is the beach. We will be coming back for sure.

Would never have thought of going here but recommended by chef friend and the food was outstanding. Fillet steak to die for and beautiful fresh vegetables. Best meal I've had in Orewa!!

Excellent food (surprisingly so!) pasta, food, wine and the service from our French restaurant manager was lovely and thoughtful right down to serving our wine by the glass at the table - quality service.The only gap missing for a 5 star review was the lack of a high chair for our 18 month year old and no colouring stuff for our other small people . Stuff that adult diners don’t notice but are real issues for families.We will definitely be back.

Good pizza a bit overpriced with the post-inflation price update. However, size is good and crust tasty!Like many other places in NZ, they say french patisserie"(on a supposedly italian restaurant btw)

Thoroughly enjoyed our meals. All 14 of us. Delicious, very nicely presented and good sizes. Excellent attentive staff. Definitely going back!

Visited this local tonight for the first time and I have to say, we were very impressed. The food was delicious and portion sizes were great. Cannot fault Faridas at all. Was particularly impressed that they catered for vegans and were more than willing to adjust dishes to meet my vegan daughters requirements. They even had dairy free cheese. We will be back for sure.

Excellent food and service.21 for dinner and all our meals came out pretty close to each other, the standard of food was consistent and delicious. The serving staff didnt seem phased at all dealing with a large party along with their other diners. Highly recommend.

Second time I have dined here . The first time I had the lamb rump which was nice and very filling. This time we went with friends. Entrée I had the Calamari and was disappointed. It was quite average. Main meal I had the beef cheeks. A substantial meal. Vegetables were good, the cheeks were very tender but very gelatinous which I know they are. Personally I thought it could do with more or some red wine in the sauce. Maybe I'm being picky. I did eat the lot and I was very full and suffered later. The dish was fine but for me was lacking something.My wife also had the cheeks and she was happy enough. Our friends had steaks which they were pleased with and was the way they liked . They also had Chilli prawns for entree which they loved. I tried them , they were nice but more chilli for me . They thought they were perfect. The wines were very nice and had enough to choose from. Would I go back ? Probably , maybe to try their pizzas.

Right by the beach this lovely Italian restaurant has everything. Lovely Italian food, freshly baked goods and a separate ice cream parlour. The cheese and tomato bread is actually a yummy pizza.
