Good to place to hang out on a weekend night. The bartenders were so polite n friendly (except one). Large place so it didnt feel too crowded. Food was good too.

I had the parma, which was really just two extremely thing schnitzels on top of eachother with salsa and mozzarella and on it - so that was disappointing. avoid ordering gravy, it was separated and did not look the way a gravy should. the meal was okay and the wait wasn’t long, would not return for the same items.

Nice casual place to have a drink with the family and friends or a late night without the kids. Great selection of beer on tap and good food menu. Get the daily specials for meals and it’s a real bargain. Kids menu is really well priced and well presented Ava the kids will love it. Massive outdoor area that is covered and plenty of heating for those colder days and nights. Plenty of big screens to watch live sport but without feeling like a sports bar. Pretty much something for everyone and one of the better bars in town for a more casual occasion.

Great staff, great atmosphere. The Bangers and mash however had LOTS of vinegar which was confusing and made it difficult to enjoy what would have been a very nice meal.Great portion of karaage chicken.Chicken burger was great and so were the chips.

My husband and I tried this restaurant and ohh boy! You’re in for a treat! We went here for four consecutive days during our stay in Taupo. We ordered the same dish and each order is as great as the first one! I highly recommend the steak with mash potatoes and fries whilst my husband had the lamb shank pie! Both dishes were flavorful and fresh! Bar man we’re helpful about my husbands choice of beer. I always order aperol sprits as my go-to drinks but it seems they don’t have it. I opted for a G&T and it’s well mixed. The restaurant itself had a nice feeling about it, well lit and maintained. We will definitely be back!

We were pretty excited to come here for dinner our first night in Taupō and genuinely thought we'd be back again but the whole experience was pretty disappointing. The food was nice enough but not omg I need to go back. The service was non-existent, the person behind the bar looked and acted like he'd rather be any where else but there - not quite the welcome you'd expect when you first arrive. He wore a mask but not properly so was really no point. The person that delivered our food was friendly enough however we never had anyone come over to us at all in the time we were there, not to take drink orders or offer water for the glasses on our table which must have just been for decoration or clear our plates. It wasn't a cheap meal, it wasn't very busy and to be honest, I doubt I'd go back.

Finn's Bistro and Beer Garden
Excellent restaurant and bar in the center of Taupo’s central business district! It is a beautiful space, with lots of wood, lovely woven light fixtures, brass lighting over the bar, ferns, and a fireplace. For beer lovers, there are 10 beers on tap, plus they have a nice wine list and a full bar. The menu is excellent, with strong sharing plates, pizzas, pub standards like fish and chips, great sounding salads, plus a range of other entrees. We got Chicken Parmigiana (yum!!) and followed it with Sticky Date Pudding for dessert.Great all-around experience and I’d definitely go back.
