The Fern Cafe
Wholesome hearty food at a very reasonable price. The flat grilled veges and chips was very tasty and the chips are freshly made. We both had a seafood chowder each, the bread soaks up any left overs nicely. The lemon on the side is refreshing and a nice touch. Tea was good as was the Pinot Gris.

Loved it so much! The food was delicious with amazing fast service. My experience was fantastic, I’ll be coming back again with the missus and the kids.

The lady serving us was very lovely. But the cafe was very dirty. The food....this is the first time I couldn't even take a second bite of my food and ended up just leaving the food there and left. I had eggs benedict, it was covered fully in hollandaise sauce and everything was cold!! Bacon wasn't even cooked properly. My partner had waffle, it was over sweet (he is a sweet tooth) and cold, banana was uneatable. Mocha was...I didn't even know what it was. Worst experience in a cafe ever.

Incredibly good service and delicious homemade food, not to mention, one of the best coffee in Taupo. Big call, but true and I take my coffee seriously! I felt so at home and welcome when I go to this hidden treasure. The latest papers and magazines make for a relaxed visit, such a special place. Parking on site, just a gem.
