Had a 10/10 experience at Jurassic Ridge - would recommend. Came here as a group on the weekend and the owner offered us a taste of a generous range of wines and knowledgeably spoke us through the process by which each was made. We all bought wines and olive oil and walked away happy. Initially we’d planned to go to mudbrick or other nearby vineyards but the crowds and wait times were excessive so it was a very worthwhile decision to come here instead.

Mediocre wines at best. Owner was rude, unable to answer questions, condensending & bad mouthed other local wineries. Sexiest, elitist, unkind and generally made the experience of drinking his bland wines all the more uncomfortable.I tried to relate to him by sharing experiences of Italy, foreign cars and a vast wine cellar, only to have him viciously talk over me time and time again. But I'm a woman so I'm used to it.

I had a very unpleasant experience in this winery. The owner was arrogant and rude and the service was so poor that we wanted to leave in the middle of tasting. Not only we had to wait for a very long time for tasting (and afterwards paying the tasting) but also he didn’t think we are sophisticated enough for him to present the wines for us. The wines were not anything special and white wines are roses were way too warm to serve. I wouldn’t recommend the place for anyone.

Hard to judge the wine because the experience left a bitter aftertaste. The winemaker was rude and either completely ignored us or - the few times we tried to talk to him or ask a question about a particular wine - openly mocked us in front of the only other group that was there. We might not know everything about wine but we were genuinely interested and respectful. We should have just walked out but we were raised to treat others how we would like to be treated so we stayed until the end and then waited forever to pay for the most upsetting wine tasting we have ever experienced. There are nicer wines and places on Waiheke to spend an hour of your life.

Visited Jurassic Ridge on Saturday afternoon, with friends and we were treated to some of the best New Zealand made wines we have ever tested. By a country mile, probably the best wine made on Waiheke (if not New Zealand). The host was incredibly knowledgeable and passionate about his product, which always enhances the experience. We all left with a few bottles and had to hold ourselves back from buying everything we tasted.I would definitely recommend this to true wine lovers.

Our tasting session started off well. We were greeted and welcomed, and given the information about the wine tasting, costs etc. It's a very reasonable price: $20 per person for 8 wines, which is incredible. We were given our tasters in a timely manner, with good information about them. However after our 4th wine, a group of 10 turned up, and we were completely forgotten! At one point after about 30 mins we went up to the owner with the intention of asking to carry on our tasting session, but we struggled to get his attention. My friend then said to him we need to leave as we had a booking elsewhere, and he quickly organised our last tasters. We honestly felt like leaving before finishing our tasting as we felt very neglected. Even when we asked to pay, he made us wait so that he could top up the other groups' wines!Such a shame because it started off so well and we were really impressed.

Want to be pleasantly surprised by a captivating and memorable wine tasting? This is the location. Our experience was similar to catching up with an old friend, who's knowledge and passion flowed as plentifully as the high quality wines and lovely music, creating an atmosphere to be remembered. Our most enjoyed bottles? Too many to recall, and too challenging to differentiate between the large tasting selection. It was refreshing to be in the presence of a true master of his craft who took care, time and consideration as he brought us on the journey of Jurassic Ridge. We will be back, we will recommend to all who are within earshot and we will be purchasing many more bottles from this magnificent winery.

Fantastic explanations with a lot of care and really interesting natural wine. My favorite cellar door experience from my time on Waiheke. Tasting is free but it will be hard to leave without wanting to buy a wine. Recommending to all my friends already.

As you would expect from a retired neurologist Lance is articulate and knowledgeable about his vineyard and his wines are impeccable. My partner and I agree that these are the best NZ wines we have ever tasted. Almost 200m from Mudbrick on the same side. Look for the sign as you may miss the driveway. Thank you Lance for an amazing wine tasting experience. Rachel & Kieran

Lance was absolutely fantastic, completely different to any other vineyard we have visited.Extremely knowledgeable and patient - talked us through everything. The wine is unique in every respect and you would be doing yourself a disservice not visiting this place. Whilst at the other vineyards on the island, we spoke to people who were no more knowledgeable than ourselves - Lance is on a different playing field entirely.Didn't 'd attend a wine tasting and buy a bottle but I am now sat with a bottle of his fantastic 2012 sauvignon blanc. It's stunning.
