Wonderful museum for absolutely free! The air force museum is packed with amazing exhibits, interactive activities, digital games, information plaques, planes and cockpits you can sit in, and more.This is a great place to bring kids, and adults of all ages. You will leanr a lot of about the long and interesting history of great kiwi heroes.The planes are also very gorgeous and well kept.

A must visit if you are in Christchurch!A free family-friendly attraction, good for all ages.The displays are wonderful as is the signage - which explains everything about the exhibits.We first visited the aircraft hall on the front left, only to later realize there is YET ANOTHER equally large, and even better hall - which has different light effects. These effects change as you traverse through.

Lovely place! Very informative and plenty of things to see. I really recommend going on a tour as you will be able to visit tour-only sites! Our guide, Chris, was really nice and helpful. We spent about 2-3 hours here, that’s including the tour. The museum also has a mosquito jet simulation that you can try on.

Today was an exhibition day at museum .. lots of peoples were there. We got a chances to saw live jets flying over , There were Lots of activities for the kids as well . A good place for a family visits . Enough car parking space and there is also cafe☕️ ✅

Good place to go with the family. They got an excellent display of war planes used in the world war and a great summary of history all over the place. Kids would love it.

The collection is quite extensive, and we took a tour that was very informative.I took my twelve year old so that she could appreciate the differences between commercial aircraft and military aircraft, and she loved it.Highly recommended for young and old.

My great uncle was listed on the wall of Remembrance, highly recommend the guided tour for $2. It's free entry but recommend to give a donation.

Aircraft exhibition is really good, can know about the history of airplanes.It’s free for entry, there is a small market inside the museum on every Sunday.

Air Force Museum of New Zealand
I visited here on the day that should hold an air show, but it was canceled due to the bad weather, which was such a shame.There were so many cool air force stuffs from the gear they carry to actual fighter helicopters and jets with their engine showed.There was also a vintage cars demonstration that day, they are so beautiful and classic with wooden body and wire rims.

Possibly the best museum in New Zealand for airplane enthusiasts (and everyone else!). I highly recommend taking the behind the scenes tour as well as getting tickets for the mosquito simulator. It’s a really great place to spend a day or afternoon.
