I had LASIK eye surgery with Dr Hall at Bowen Eye Clinic at the beginning of 2023, and the whole process from start to finish was great. The staff are lovely, the procedure was quick and painless and recovery much easier than I was expecting! I wish I had done this 10years ago!

I had laser done end of 2022, it has been such an easy process and a positive experience. I went in with a prescription of -6.75 and having worn glasses most my life to not needing them at all! The procedure was quick, the recovery was quick (I was driving the next day) and the only symptom I have left is occasional dry eyes which is improving every week! Working as a nurse and having a busy roster I found it easy to get follow up appointments and all the staff are friendly. Would highly recommend getting it done!

I felt like I had nothing to worry about, being someone who isn’t comfortable with my eyes being touched.Dr Hall and his staff were very helpful and supportive. They were only a phone call away if I had any questions pre and post procedure.The follow up sessions at Palmerston North are very handy with Dr Hall, as I live close to there.My eyes are great! I now have 20:20 vision thanks to Dr Hall and Bowen Eye Clinic.I highly recommend their service.

I recently had laser surgery, to be honest I was slightly nervous about it, however the general vibe at the clinic was relaxed and professional. I felt confident I was in good hands.The procedure was painless, all I felt was a wee bit of pressure on my eyes as the procedure was carried out, though it was not a big deal as it was over very quickly.The care I have received from Dr Hall has been tailored to my needs and from start to finish I have felt that I have been in safe and professional hands. I now have 20/20 vision and I cannot thank Dr Hall enough, its been transformational.I would recommend this clinic to anyone wanting laser surgery and if I ever needed further eye surgery the Bowen Eye Clinic would be my first choice

I had LASIK surgery about 6 weeks ago and the experience was fantastic. Dr Reece Hall is very professional and made me feel very comfortable about undergoing the surgery. He explained the risks to me clearly and made me feel confident that LASIK was the right thing for me. The results are amazing. I had sore eyes for a couple days post surgery though this was a very small expense for my current 20/20 vision. All staff were very friendly and I never had to wait long to see the doctor. I would recommend this service to anyone who is shortsighted, like I was, and is fed up of the impracticality of wearing glasses or contacts.

I had Advanced Surface Ablation (PRK) eye surgery with Dr Hall and his team in July 2022. The entire process has been simple, reassuring and 100% worth it.It started with a pre-consultation with Dr Hall and his friendly team – during which you are assessed for suitability and a 3D image is taken of your eyes. It’s a quick and friendly visit which, if you’re suitable, finishes with a date for the procedure. Due to the thinness of my cornea, I was suitable for PRK rather than the traditional LASIK. Dr Hall expertly explained the difference between the two methods and what I might experience after the procedure.On the actual day, Dr Hall was very reassuring and put my anxious mind at ease. He did not make me feel rushed but was happy to go at my pace and explained in detail what would be happening at each stage. The whole event took maybe 45 mins – but that included a chat with Dr Hall, eye numbing, final measurement eye check and machine calibration, the actual laser event and then the recovery waiting time. The time spent under the laser was a couple minutes maximum. There is no pain – Dr Hall makes sure to put enough eye numbing drops ahead of time. What you see during the procedure is like you’re looking at colourful TV static – the assistant counts down until the time is up and then Dr Hall washes out your eye. This is when the magic is revealed. Suddenly you can see so much more clearly than you could before – the definition of the machine above your head is incredible – like you’re looking at life through an ultra-high def lens. The other eye is just as quick.You have a series of follow up appointments with Dr Hall at various stages in your recovery. He is incredibly thorough and kind and keeps you informed on your healing process and your visual improvements. The recovery wasn’t too bad – with PRK the recovery is slower than with LASIK so anticipate extra time off / lazy couch days if you are going down that route. Keep up with the eye drops that you’re given – they really help with the discomfort. You will be light sensitive and uncomfortable around day 3 – but don’t worry, it doesn’t last!! Just go easy on yourself and have a lazy day keeping away from daylight as much as possible.Almost a year later and my vision is still just as wonderful – even during night driving. It’s been so wonderful not having to wear glasses everyday – and being able to by as many cheap sunglasses as I fancy instead of relying on expensive prescription ones. I have absolutely no regrets going through this procedure! I can 100% recommend anyone who is tempted to just chat with Dr Hall and see if you’re suitable and which procedure suits you the best.Just a side note – you need to wait at least 3 months between giving birth and for your visual pregnancy changes, if there are any, to settle down.Thank you Dr Hall and team!F

I felt completely looked after by Dr Hall and his staff on the surgery day and I was very impressed by the level of care in the months after the surgery. I love being glasses-free now and wished I got it done sooner! I highly recommend Bowen Eye Clinic if you are considering getting LASIK done.

I had LASIK 9 months ago and would do it all over again if I had to. The procedure itself was over very quickly and with minimal discomfort, and the difference it has made to my everyday life has been worth every cent.I was very anxious but Dr Reece Hall was calm and friendly and made me feel much more relaxed about the procedure. The staff were also very professional and friendly.Being able to have the follow up appointments in Palmerston North was very convenient. The Bowen Eye Clinic was able to fit me in to an appointment to have my Lasik surgery short notice when I unexpectedly had some time off work. The staff were friendly and knowledgeable. Once I arrived for any appointment, the wait times were very short. The appointments themselves were short and efficient and I didn't have to wait around at all.The surgery itself was well-explained and painless and the clinic has a very organized system for providing patients with follow-up care after the procedure.The Clinic itself is situation right in the wellington bush and the views are stunning while in the waiting room.The surgeon was knowledgeable, friendly and experienced and I would definitely recommend this clinic for anyone considering laser eye surgery in the future. Highly recommend.

I had LASIK eye surgery about 6 months ago and it has been amazing, right from my initial appointment with Reece to my final check up. My everyday routine has changed remarkably, prior to surgery the first thing I had to do was put my contacts in and now I can get up and see clearly!! It took a while to get used to not having to put contacts in but I wouldn't change it at all. I throughly recommend eye surgery with Bowen Eye Clinic.
