My partner and I enjoyed two wonderful evenings in Harihari on our roadtrip south. We stayed in an off the grid hut built from the ground up by the owners. There are lots of walks nearby, a decent pub, and some great activities organised by the hosts.

The best hosts and experience you could possibly imagine, I could not recommend visiting enough- in-fact everyone I meet who’s going to the west coast, I tell them they really must stop in at Wildside.. Dan and Kath are some of the most kind and interesting folks I’ve met, and I consider them like family to this day- that’s just the type of people they are. Not to mention the accomodation options are remarkably unique! Staying here is less of a pitstop and more of destination, an experience all on it own.Give them a good squeeze from me!Enjoy :)

I had an amazing stay at the teapot cottage with my partner. I fell in love with the retro style immediately and the organ and record player added such a nice atmosphere to our stay. Lovely kitchen with everything you need and a good selection of board games to try out. Kath was a wonderful host too. I can't recommend Wildside Lodge enough to anyone coming to the west coast.

Wow, what an AMAZING West Coast experience. The most welcoming hosts ever will share their secret local spots, can help direct you on local hikes, fishing tips and Glacier Country tricks. Get away and enjoy the peace and quiet at this organic property with the teapot cottage and the off grid lodge. It will be quirky, comfortable and an amazing experience that you will remember fondly for ever. I can't wait to spend another week there. Thanks Dan and Kath

We spent part of our honeymoon here. Lovely place and hosts. I still miss tending to the pot belly stove.

I came here 20 years ago with a mate of mine on our motorbike tour of the South Island, and did some worked here for a week or to.Kath and Dan, you two made this one of my most memorable memories of the entire trip, and I still think of this place fondly 20 years later

Very cool spot. Me and my partner were in need of a place to stay on chrismas, and knocked on the door of wildside backpackers. We were warmly welcomed, and enjoyed the evening with the family. Thank you so much Dan and Kath for helping us out!
