Excellent with comfiest of beds and great standard of fittings throughout.Just passing through to Stewart Island but will be back we hope to explore more! Thanks to hosts at Waipiata Hotel for great pub food on a busy night before duck shooting started. Awoke to a white landscape!

Tussock Lodge Waipiata
I stayed at the Tussock Lodge while doing the Otago Rail Trail. It was awesome! There was yummy breakfast options and more than enough food for us, the air con in the bedrooms was a nice touch as were the TV’s. The beds were comfy and the en-suites in each room were perfect for privacy. The owners are lovely and I next time in Waipiata I will definitely stay here again. Thank you

Everything about Tussock Lodge was wonderful! It was exceptionally clean, had a wonderful breakfast, and beautiful surroundings. We would highly recommend this accommodation.

Beautiful location, perfectly appointed lodge, everything is thought of. Super clean and it was great to have washing machine and dryer available after a rainy afternoon in the rail trail. Good place to stay with a group too.

Great accommodation. Only place for supper is the Waipiata hotel, which gets pretty busy so try to get there early to get a table!
