well worth the stop. a very quick walk up to the lookout is well worth it. stunning views and the snow capped mountains are just lovely.

The south island is the most beautiful with the mountain ranges and the views. You really should drive it and not just the coastal trail. The inland Road shows it at its best.

No freedom camping! Visible sign saying no camping! Came to this spot at night didn’t see any other campers and seeing as the sign said no camping, we left. We were freedom camping in a van but didn’t want to chance it.

Great place to stop, stretch legs, take the 5 minute walk at the bottom of the car park up to the lookout summit. Additionally a nice clean public restroom.

As a Tour Guide, it's great. I always stop there.BUT, the trees and surrounding leafy stuff should be trimmed and kept to a height where people can see ALL the great views the location presents. L At present, they can not.Not everyone wants to walk up the extra 100-200 meters to the top level. Also, some elderly can't.I'm back there in 3 weeks.It'll be interesting to see if anything's changed. I hope so.

I mean if you're tired from the drive and you need a rest then sure, it's a safe place to park up. The place doesn't offer anything spectacular to warrant a deliberate stop (nothing that you don't already see from driving on the main road anyway)

Came up here for a moment. Met a retired couple up there and checked out the wife's ankle tattoo, she got it at 80 years old. Amazing little stop and great people. Oh yeah, view was alright, haha.

Not a very good lookout, the trees have grown up pretty high now and it makes it hard to actually see the views. And there is only one table for such a large parking lot making it hard to actually have a nice lunch up there. As well as the toilet stinks worse than most long drops should.
