I recently visited Inaka Sushi & Japanese Restaurant in Otorohanga and had a good experience overall. The food was delicious, with a wide range of sushi and other Japanese dishes to choose from. The only downside was that the prices were a bit high for what you got, but that's to be expected at a nice restaurant.The staff at Inaka were also very friendly and helpful, which added to the overall positive experience. They were happy to answer any questions we had and made sure our experience was top-notch.Overall, I would give Inaka Sushi & Japanese Restaurant a 4 out of 5 stars. While the prices were a bit steep, the food and service were both excellent. If you're looking for a nice night out and are a fan of Japanese cuisine, this is a great place to visit

Ordered a Bento box with teriyaki chicken, 24 NZD. Was way too little chicken and the rest of the food was very dry/old and not good at all. Disappointed.

The BEST restaurant in town. The couple are so friendly. Food is just incredible. Today was super busy but service was great and always smiles.

Fantastic salmon bento. Beautiful Miso. A must visit for lovers of Japanese cuisine! Made to order too, so no concerns on how long its been sitting in the display. Will come again without a doubt. Arigatoo gozaimasu! Oishi deshoo!

This eatery caught my eye a few months ago, when I was planning our trip. The positive reviews impressed me. We made it here yesterday, and Inaka definitely lived up to the praise. Our family had beef teriyaki bento box, chicken katsu bento box, and udon with beef, as well as the banana tempura ice cream. Everything was delicious, the meat was tender (I've encountered my fair share of gristly stuff elsewhere) and service was fast. The prices are very, very reasonable. I would definitely eat here again, highly recommend.

The food was tasty but the waiter's English wasn't good enough to understand my allergen questions, he answered that the dish contained none of the ingredients I asked about and then it did. Luckily it was immediately visible to me. Ironically the restaurant's counter had a sign marking it as allergen aware"."

Have just been through and thought we would stop for lunch not thinking anything of it we sat and got comfortable only to realize the atrocious price ....$14 for 5 peices of sushi ???? All other items on the menu priced at least 5 dollars over what you would usually pay anywhere else I was expecting 8.50 or something similar ....had to walk out in the end daylight robbery ...unless you are money bags I would steer clear

Sushi is always made to order. The big difference from Auckland’s sushi shop to this shop is, here they don’t put too much sauce. The miso soup is like a warm hug, less salty. Perfectly balanced meal. Way better than Auckland. Highly recommend! Very humble staff ❤️

The make the sushi fresh, right when you order it ! I had the salmon and avocado rolls, they were huge and really yummy!
