Egmont Street Eatery
Not a huge menu but different and definitely tasty. My wife's gluten free fish was recommended. The Pork Belly was more filling than expected, the smoked potatoes with the puree and sip was Devine.

Egmont Street Eatery
My partner and I had a fantastic dinner at Egmont Street Eatery. The service was beyond amazing and the food was excellent. Did I mention the staff was extremely kind and knowledgeable of the menu too? Two hours of dining experience flew by so quickly, and that’s a testament on how well they paced the food coming to our table. We will definitely be back!

Egmont Street Eatery is a place that knows how to do the simple things really really well, and their WOAP Saigon Smash burger is a study in sumptuous simplicity. A well seared and spiced beef patty with pickled daikon and carrots topped with a delicious cheese sauce comes together into a perfect package. The surprisingly standout ingredient is the pickled carrots, which adds crunch, sweetness and freshness. I decided to forgo the beer match in favour of the pineapple sugarcane soda - also excellent. Top marks!

Would never recommend this place and won’t be coming back.Came here on Sunday afternoon. We sat down and were left waiting for about 10 mins without any service, menus, anything.When a waiter came, I asked for an oat milk mocha which I repeated twice- I cannot drink dairy milk. It came out later as a dairy milk coffee. When I told the waiter it was full milk, he said in a snarky tone “if you think it’s full milk, I can make another”- implying that it was subjective when both my partner and I knew it was dairy based. It’s not if “I think”- it WAS dairy milk.The icing on the cake was my partner’s basic eggs on toast- I’m not sure if they started a fire and chucked the bread in with it because it sure came out looking that way.There’s crisp and then there’s burnt and I really don’t know how the chef thought this was acceptable.

Disinterested service that I dont think could have cared less if we enjoyed our food, drinks or time in the restaurant as they never asked. Incredibly average and ill conceived food bordering on just bad, not one dish was memorable or finished. We spent $260 on dinner for two we left feeling ripped off and very disappointed. Will not be returning and definitely do not recommend this restaurant.

The food was pretty average. I had read lots of good things but it didn't live up to expectations. The Hash Potatoes with thai sausage and cabbage - not very inspiring. Carby but nothing else.

Loved every bite! Great food. Everything was cooked to perfection. Delicious entrees. But the highlight of the dinner were beef and pork - simply to die for. Outstanding service as well. For me, Egmont Street Eatery is the best dinner restaurant in Wellington, and the closest to fine dining experience. Can't wait to dine again.

Everything was cooked to perfection at the Egmont Street Eatery. The steak was the best, the fish was soft and tender. The side potatoes, the starter and even complementary fried chickpeas were delicious. Thank you for all your effort, we'll be back when we are in Wellington again. Also, that cocktail was amazing! Well done.

A lovely lunch was enjoyed at Egmont Street Eatery by myself, along with my husband and two of our adult kids. We booked online and were seated immediately by the lovely waitress who informed us of the specials and took our drink orders. Husband and I ordered the fish, Tarakihi (Devine!) Our daughter had a Prawn Poke Bowl and our son the Waffles with Bacon. All of the meals were delicious, the service was exceptional, and we enjoyed the surroundings. I can Highly Recommend Egmont Street Eatery and we look forward to returning soon!
