Very pleasant and helpful people. Auckland traveling in the regions often face local hostility or person and we had heard some on the trip. However, the visitor centre was very friendly and welcoming.

The lady working there gave us very good and clear information about ghe track to Taranaki. She was so sweet. She really took her time to explain everything about the track and the weatherconditions. She was so friendly!

I recieved horrible customer service from Emma. I have gone as far as making a formal complaint. Rude and uninterested and condescending. I did have a better experience with another worker (Jane) but my interactions with Emma have left a sour note with me. I do not recommend this place at all and would go as far as traveling an extra 45 minutes to New Plymouth to not deal with such poor service again.
