I was here towards the end of the season and had the place almost to myself.You can hear the road very quietly but in the evening and at night the traffic is less and then you hear nothing more.The sanitary facilities are not exactly abundant but they are very modern and clean. The showers had a great shower spray and also cost nothing extra.The host was totally friendly and also the booking and payment online worked great.I would come back anytime!

$35.00 for a tent site, the most expensive camp site in NZ that I had visited in the three months of bike packing around NZ. If you are bike packing or tenting, do not come here. There are no cooking facilities, no lounge but if you need to charge phones / tablets there is a place outside to plug into. The toilets / showers are new and kinda nice, that's the only nice thing I can say about this place.The other bad thing I can say which is not the owner's fault,. either side of the campsite are the neighbours driveways and being gravel they make a hell of a noise, when they go home or to work, so you will get woken up like I did numerous times.

Very friendly hosts, lovely to hear morporks and kiwis at night. Wood pigeons and Tui's flying around during the day. Great place for parking caravan and doing day trips. Very reasonable rates. Power, wifi and a dump station.

Although it was only one night stay, Wagon Wheel Holiday Park made us relax and had a good sleep in our campervan. We appreciate all the facilities that Wagon Wheel Holiday Park offers to their guests. The site is surrounded by trees and bushes. The shower and toilet are sparkingly clean. And wifi is very fast. We had a lovely dinner by the table in their peaceful veg garden. Sorry about my late review. I did think to write a good review for them when I stayed there. They deserve a much higher score.

Friendly greeted.It would be nice to have some hand soap in the toilets.Dishwasher bowl needs hot water.

Fantastic campground with super friendly management!The facilities are some of the best and cleanest we have encountered in a campground.Best of all no fees for hot showers!The do have a laundry on site that takes gold coins (the cheapest we found in the area)There's a huge market that runs everyweekend just 2 minutes down the road, heaps of fresh fruit markets on the same street. And even a nearby chocolate factory.Only slight negative is that it's located on a main road so not much walkability to attractions but very easy with a vehicle.We will be back for sure :)

We rocked up late afternoon after a spot for a tent to house myself, my 3 yr old nephew and my dog. The bloke at reception was most accommodating and welcoming. The place is simple, clean and efficient- just what we were seeking. We were the only tenters (mostly a moterhome place I think) it does not have cooking facilities (did offer a picnic table In the tent area) but does have a was up station and nice clean toilets and showers - was perfect for what we were after- best of all we had a quiet nights sleep and in the morning we chatted to a few very friendly long term residents who were lovely. We left before 8am as we had places to go and explore but I’d be back again

Fabulous campsite!We stayed 2 months in this amazing campsite during our packhouse season. Everything was perfect from start to finish. The owners are lovely and very accommodating. They also advised us during the small technical problems of our van and even offered us a shelter where to put it when it had a leak due to the rain. Ideal location with powered site and shower and very clean toilets. Thanks again ! Muchas gracias! Ela & Clem
