Oh boy we didn’t plan enough time for this gem! Worth every penny and never ending exhibits loaded with information, pictures, art work, HUGE Kauri tree slabs, etc. you could easily spend two days here - good the price covers 2 days!!! Sadly we only had a few hours and needed to move on. But if we come again we will make sure to stop by and spend more time! Thank-you for such a great experience!

Loved this museum. Great for kids as they had a treasure hunt to complete in the museum. I was really surprised at how big the place was, and how much history and interesting info was covered. Highly recommend, especially for kids.

Some locals that we met further south encouraged us to check this museum out. It’s absolutely worth diverting your trip to visit. Amazing insights into the pioneering history of New Zealand. The variety in displays and the size of the museum is amazing. Well worth the modest entry price. Congratulations to the local volunteers that keep this wonderful museum going.

Great museum where you can easily spend a couple of hours. All about the kauri trees and the timber equipment and way of living. Highly recommended

Amazing Museum ! You could spend hours here and still it wont be enough . Mannequins there takes you to a tour of olden days , some mannequins just give you a feeling of real people standing next to you . Must visit if you're travelling Northland .

Amazing place, interactive, lots to see and do great for all ages and people working there are very knowledgeable. Definately need a whole day to get around everything, just a couple of photos which doesn't do the place justice

The best museum I have visited. Absolutely loved all the Kauri furniture on display and the logging displays are excellent.
