Fountain City Motor Inn

This motel was very comfortable and it served by purposes (1night stay) very well. Clean with air con. I was upstairs but there was no lift so make sure if you have an impairment that will not allow you to climb up stairs ask for a ground floor room. I would stay again

Very helpful and courteous staff, special mention to Amy Wang looks after their clients very well. Have nice swimming pool and Spa. Californian king comfortable beds is good for a relaxing sleep.I have a booking with them for 6 weeks and I love the way they treated me, I have tried almost 4 different rooms and all are great. Their kitchenette has all necessary items, good size refrigerator replace milk every day. I’ll upload the photographs later.Thanks

One of the best places to stay in this area. I've have been a number of times and my mum has been staying here a few times a month for years for her work. They are very accommodating and quick to bring you something like extra towels. Their pool is under cover and is usually tepid. The rooms are clean and relatively new. They are also in the process of upgrading the bathrooms in all of their rooms. The owner is one of the loveliest people to deal with, she makes you feel welcome and as if nothing is a problem. My mum has back and knee problems sometimes so the owner would switch out dining room chairs with her own ones. You don't get this kind of service from many places.

Stayed one night there. The room and fittings were really dated, although it was clean and tidy. The outside spa was a letdown and the sauna was out of order. We stayed in the cheapest room and were told before booking we could upgrade and get a bigger bed and nicer room. . Shame we did'nt bother as we wer'nt worried about a queen bed! I wonder what the other rooms are like!

PROS: Great shower. King sized bed was very comfortable. CONS: Premises is a bit dated. Paint falling and flaking off the hallway walls, as well as the ceiling in the unit. Recommend bring your own pillows. The ones supplied had seen better days and were too soft. Parking is a bit of a worry. No lines, so people tend to park any way they like.

Friendly helpful reception staff.The room is clean and tidy. Nice to have a decent sized room.Was lovely to have a swim and know that security is good. Would suggest a hand rail into the pool to help with getting in and out more easily.

Very comfortable bed, clean shower & toilet. Quickly put a new bulb in when requested. Did not like sitting on the pull out sofa bed. It didn't latch back in place properly so was uncomfortable as a settee.

This is the worst motel I ever stayed in New Zealand. The room was tiny, old and strong mildew and musty smell. No wardrobe and I found a bug underneath the pillow. It also not provide extra security door lock from inside. No body shower provided except for two soaps. I will never ever go back at all.

THE PROPERTY WAS INFESTED WITH BED BUGS!!! I will NEVER stay there again. I had personal belongings which could not be treated for bed bug infestation and resulted in personal losses. The receptionist didnt even consult the owners to help cover the full cost. I even offered to send invoices as proof and she just would not consider any other option.The sheets were yellow and had stains on them, I have been bitten and had to throw out multiple belongings that could not be washed in at least 60 degrees washing cycle. Other items I have put in the wash and have been damaged due to the heat. These bugs are so nasty and take a lot of time and effort to eliminate. You have to wash all of your belonging in at least 60 degrees hot water and put for at least 30min in the dryer. My suitcase, leather shoes and handbag had to be thrown out. My coat and other clothing was damaged because of the intense washing cycle.The receptionist only cared about money and the financial loss to the Motor Inn and didnt care about what I have been through, the bites on my body and the traumatic experience. On top of all of this I have had to spend my own personal time and money to ensure that I do not take these bugs home with me. My advice to anyone would be to STAY AWAY!!!

Nice motel. Nice and quiet(no traffic noise) the night we were there. Disappointed though that the spa was not operating!(was looking forward to that treat) Becareful!!! In the showers the hot water is scolding HOT! Very fast. Do Not set the tap to hot and turn it on!!! Like at home. Room was clean, beds comfy. Lovely Staff.
