Traditional Jade Hokitika

As the name suggests, traditional jade feels more natural to buy pieces of Jade at. The family run business gets all it’s Jade locally and mills and shapes it in its own workspace which is visible along with raw samples of jade. Most pieces and jewelry are easily viewable in glass display units with prices clearly marked.If you ask the staff quickly grant you permission to look at various places from within the display cases.The staff is knowledgeable courteous and professional. We looked at a couple of other shades stores in town. There are only about six that we could see. And we came to the conclusion that this store offered the most genuine experience and value for money

Buy your jade here!!! Nice and competent staff, family run, locally sourced greenstone, the workshop is next to the shop. I bought, among other things, a te matau necklace there. I paid 65 NZD. It is absolutely beautiful. Today, I saw a very similar one (size, shape) in a jewelry shop in Queenstown for 120 NZD. it didn't even look as good! It was kind of flat. In comparison, the craftsmanship behind the hook from traditional jade really stood out. BUY. YOUR. JADE. HERE!

Needs updating decor wise otherwise a pleasure to visit & lady was jovial, friendly & helpful.

Family business with lovely selfmade pieces.They are unique and sold for a very fair price!Definetly visit this place when you are in Hokitika. We visited all the Jade Stores and this one was our favorite.We got necklaces, earrings and kiwis made out of pounamu.Strong Recommendation for visiting this lovely shop!
