I've had two babies through Shore Birth, both times the experience was excellent. I found all staff to be friendly and professional and they kept me calm during two complicated pregnancies. Highly recommend!

I had a horrible experience visiting Shore Women regarding my suspected Endometriosis last year. I had my appointment with Maha Haddad who told me that my hormonal symptoms (extreme hair, skin issues) were just due to my ethnic background. She shook her head “no” the entire time I talked about how my symptoms align with Endometriosis. She told me I just need to take pain meds and go on the pill. She specifically said my symptoms have nothing to do with Endo and that I am fine (even though I explained to her My pain can be a 10/10 due to painful ovaries). She disregarded everything I said and negated all my reasoning and facts I had come in with from research. Fast forward a couple months after I found a true professional, she examined me internally and instantly knew I had Endometriosis. I had an operation for my suspected Endo and was DIAGNOSED WITH STAGE 2 Endometriosis with many cysts (one the size of a ping pong ball) on my ovaries. This could’ve impacted my fertility if I left it to poor professionals. So disappointed in the experience - can’t say what this clinic/clinician is like regarding other services but I don’t trust them when it comes to Endometriosis/PCO related issues. Note directly to the clinician I saw; if you’re unsure of your expertise in this area, please refer your patients to the right professionals. I can’t believe my health and fertility could’ve suffered majorly if I let my journey end at Shore Women.

I went to Shore Women for help investigating my fertility and have been left incredibly frustrated and defeated from my experience there. After spending hundreds of dollars on ultrasound and specialist fees to begin my treatment with Shore Women, I was shocked to discover I had to take charge of my own treatment and follow-up on all blood tests and question plans for my treatment (as no follow-up was provided). I received sporadic communication from the medical team regarding lab test results, waited weeks for communication from the doctor, and was given conflicting advice and information regarding my treatment from the nurses and doctor. It seems there is absolutely zero protocol in place for reporting lab results and communication between the staff and clients is extremely poor. I've been informed via voicemail to start taking a different medication (for off-license use - wasn't informed) that I've had no medical advice about, or explanation as to what it will do to me. On top of all this, the receptionist is not open to hearing negative feed-back about customer experience (she shouted loudly at me on the phone EXCUSE ME!" as I was trying to explain how frustrated and anxious I was about my fertility and the lack of guidance from the medical team)

They always run late. If you're working you'll need to book out over an hour of your time for most appointments despite only being 10mins long. You'll need to ensure you keep on top of your notes and previous conversations with obstetricians as you will be required to repeat yourself at every appointment with any obstetrician you haven't yet met. The obstetricians often contradict each other which can be stressful when you've been given one set of feedback and the next expert advises something totally different.I provided thorough feedback to the team regarding my care and received no response or acknowledgment.Overall I would use again but I would lower my expectations of individualised care.

Hands down the best service and care I could have received when pregnant with our baby. I will definitely be coming back here when we have another baby. Bronagh and Judy - the midwives - are SO lovely and caring and the obstetricians are just so so good at what they do. Dr Vijay Bhoola is everything I could have wished for in an OB delivering my first baby. He was calm, encouraging, empathetic and genuine from the first appointment to when I was pushing. I cannot fault any of the experience at all and could not recommend the team at Shore Birth more highly! Awesome to have Sonelle on-site for scans too!

Everyone has their own experience and gynae is a very personal & emotional experience no matter what stage you go through as a woman. I have had dealings with Shore Woman & Shore Birth spanning 25+ years. I met Vijay Bhoola 21 years ago and he assisted me with a concern after the very premature birth of my daughter (not associated with Shorebirth - it was a medical situation) with care and professionalism & so started a relationship of trust in an important role for me as a woman.Roll forward to 4 years ago when I had to call on Vijay's gynae specialist services and he he has been on the journey with me again with professionalism, care and so much that my recent huge operation he called on an extra pair of surgeon's hands to work with him and to reduce my time under general anesthesia - the operation which was high risk went extremely well. However I developed an unfortunate other medical condition and despite this not being the responsibility of Vijay to manage he has consistently provided further care and follow up as has his amazing side kicks and extremely important members of his team, Marlene, Susan and Sandra have all been so supportive and genuinely caring. So again my novel recommendation spans 25+ years, different situations and yet I am so happy with the care and professionalism from Vijay and his team. My recommendation is go meet the people and be aware of your own emotions. There could well have been times I could have had a different reaction to my emotions - sometimes I was so poorly and didn't necessarily agree - but I trusted and stayed the course.I know I say thank you all the time Team Shore Woman but thank you. (Also a shout out to Judy from Shore Birth - part of the team and assisted me as my post recovery mid-wife some 24 years ago ... and we still chat like friends when I see her in the clinic).

Melanie the physiotherapist was able to help me more than my doctor or other specialists ever could. She was so informative and most importantly listened to me without judgement. Thank you Melanie
