Can not comment on rooms as did not stay.Meals were very filling with a good choice for carnivores. Good range of drinks available with both wine and beer and non alcoholic. Beer garden available on those warm summer days.Staff friendly and efficient

Came for lunch on waitangi day to celebrate mother in law's birthday. The food was absolutely delicious. The chicken schnitzel was juicy and huge. All meals were great.

Called in on a Friday night for a beer and it was pumping in there, good atmosphere, karaoke cranking, beautiful singing. The meals that were brought out for others smelt and looked great.

Great place to stay! Hotel is nicely done up with modern decor and new bathrooms (very clean). Comfy beds and plenty of space.Only a small kitchenette, but the pub does takeaway which is nice to enjoy on the upstairs balcony.

Visited midday weekday when it was quiet and whilst exploring. The service was poorly and my impressions of the pub was that it is understaffed, unfriendly and they were unknowledgable. The drink selection was poorly, with no cocktail menu visible, prices standard and a mundane and rather bland decor and atmosphere. Better pick their heels up being surrounded by character pubs which are always bustling and have great drinks!

Had wonderful lunch here with my wife. I had the Ribeye Steak and she had the Chicken Burger. Both meals were excellent and the staff very friendly and welcoming. The only slight downside was VERY loud American patron that the staff (and ourselves) suffered with remarkable calm and professionalism. Well done Brown Pub. A very pleasant lunchtime experience.

Great selection of drinks at the pub, friendly staff and fun events like karaoke put on regularly. Worth dropping by for a drink or two, the pulled pork burger with fries is also very tasty!
