I've been buying secondhand books in Wellington since before time began, and currently this is the best place IMO. Great selection, no frills, knowledgeable, pleasant staff.

Swung by today and was really pleased with this shop. Lots of great books, lovely art on the walls and a wonderful shop worker who gifted me a book of art (from which she had gathered the art prints displayed on the walls!). A must-see shop for all bibliophiles. Delightful!

A very nicely and logically laid out selection of books in good condition and fairly priced. The balance of shelving and space makes Book Hound feel uncluttered and welcoming. Recommended.

Really great books on sale here, which are complimented by the extremely knowledgeable and helpful staff! They also host poetry and book reading events, which I highly recommend attending if you want to delve into some great local NZ talent :)

excellent shop, excellent range, excellent service and most of all excellent VIBES! This book shop and its employees really know how to create at atmosphere perfect for readers. I could sit there and just READ ALL DAY!
