Moore Wilson's Wellington

The Supermarket is quite huge and has all the fresh vegetables, fruits and dairy.It also has the bread, buns and other bakery items. Lots of groceries.Its a bit too expensive but worth the price. It also has separate sections for wines, beers and spirits.

Marc H of Moore Wilson's gave me the best chuckle of my trip when upon learning my credit card was not signed threw his hand in the air while simultaneously ringing a bell with the utmost dramatic flair. What a way to treat a customer. Discretion is not one of your finer qualities. Apparently I was breaking all sorts of 'legalities' that caused Marc consternation. Other than this experience I was pleased with the selection at this retro grocery. I say retro because I haven't had to use an actual credit card in 95% of the merchants I've patronized during my 6 week visit to Wellington. Tap to pay is the most secure payment method for shopper and retailer. Oh and I think I'm going to wallpaper my bathroom with the receipt. Why so large??

The bottle shop here has amazing selection and very good prices. Good cheese selection too.

You really have to know your wares if you want to get the real price for items.They stock a good range of 'Made in Japan' ceremics and other certain well renowned brands.The customer service is a real hit or miss also, siding more towards a miss. This, however, is purely isolated in the hardware department.The produce section is holding up all positive relations.

I shop here sometimes for specialty items. It is more expensive than normal supermarkets but your paying a premium for the highest quality versions of goods so it's worth it if you have the money. There is no self-checkout option here which makes sense if your serving picky customers who are paying more. I'm pretty certain they have some famous customers who shop here eg Jermaine Clement and Benjamin Mckenzie so be on the look out.

Whenever I'm in Wellington, a visit to Moore Wilson's cake counter is a must. Their cakes are the best (especially the Duchess!).They also have an extensive range of upmarket goods & produce.There are also nice food trucks outside & it's centrally located.Queues can be long, but move quickly.

There are 2 stores hereStandard Moore Wilson , where you get your bulk groceries and all prices are excluding GST. I advise you to buy here if you are buying in bulk, which is more than 3kg.nMoore Wilson Fresh, where you get fresh vegetables n baked stuff and all prices inclusive gst. The cakes here are reasonably priced and yet delicious

A wellington staple. Amazing range of international and niche foods. Bulk section is well stocked and has incredible prices!! $13 for 5kg of pasta, wow. Will be back.
