Have been a regular at The Vessel from the day it opened. The staff working there for the new owns are all very pleasant and do a great job. So have no problem with them and the food is great. But I have had a problem there on Sunday night. Ordered our food. Once it arrived we were surrounded by bees and many of them fling around our heads and some in my food. This same thing happened a week before. It was not a pleasant experience at all. We won’t be back till you sort your bee problem out. Last night our neighbour was at a table next to us had the same problem . Something is not right here. We couldn’t get out of there quick enough.

One of, if not the, best things about summer at Cook's Beach. Massive food selection, and a pretty good selection of beers and gins, with a smattering of local brews on tap.Obviously it can get quite busy over the silly season, but the staff manage very well considering. When it's really pumping, you can expect food to take a wee while longer, but the quality makes it more than worth it. The snacks are fantastic and the mains even better.Split billing is not available, but tables can open multiple tabs under different names to make paying up a little easier.I would love to see the return of a wider range of the local breweries' beers - Hot Water Brewing is just down the road, and Blue Fridge is nearby as well. All in all, you'd be a fool to pass the Vessel by. Support local!

Very nice suprise. It seems like a pub at first (sports on tv and a bit noisy), but the food is actually very good.We took the salmon and the steak, it was delicious.Would recommend for a drink but also if you want a good meal at decent price (around 35 nzd for a main course).

Travelling around New Zealand for the past week, my partner and I have had some amazing food. This gem of a place blew all previous meals away. The staff is friendly and made us feel welcome but the food is the star of this restaurantAuthentic flavours, perfectly cooked meals and amazing cocktails. A must to visit if you are in the Cooks beach area.

Dinner out with adults and children.Good service by the staff and all were friendly and took the time to explain why certain tables were unavailable when asked.Good selection of drinks and prompt service when ordered.Food was fantastic and (apparently I’ve been told it’s a big call) the Beef Burger I ordered would have to be one of the best burgers I’ve EVER had and the Thai Curry Mussels were also some of the best I’ve had with a nice thick curry sauce instead of the standard watery coconut milk sauce you get in other places.I would definitely recommend eating out here if your visiting Cooks Beach.

Support local - easy ferry andShort bike from Whitianga. Nice way to spend a couple hours. Shared the Captain Calzone Pizza, tasted nice enough but we both left underwhelmed and a little hungry. Will definitely go back and try some other Pizzas. Staff were pleasant, place was clean and tidy. Would suggest having chilled water for customers as table water, rather than the luke warm water provided.

First time here for lunch and impression over all was very good. The setup is well done, plenty of tables and shade. Great selection of wine and beer with some excellent craft beer on tap. Meals are also very nice with good selections using local seafood and produce. Service is great and tye staff friendly, well worth a visit.
