Three years ago i received a significant dog bite to my face which resulted in a facial disfigurement and scarring. My team of specialists recommend the Skin Specialist Centre for the next stage of corrective procedures. The past two years I have been undergoing procedures to fade my scars and reshape my lip with Dr Kevin McKerrow and his team of nurses. I travel from out of Auckland to the clinic because the clinic is one of the best in their field of expertise. If you have been recommended Dr Kevin McKerrow you are in safe hands. Dr McKerrow is an excellent dermatologist and a very skilled surgeon. He speaks to the point and explains both the diagnosis and the preparation of the treatment and the surgery, which is delivered clearly and with empathy and honesty. I received excellent care from Dr McKerrow and his team. He is a real expert and is someone you can trust. Because of Dr McKerrow's skill and expertise there was no need for a skin graft and the scarring was minimal. I feel very grateful to know that all the skin cancer cells at this site were removed by the MOHS surgery technique. His theatre staff are very friendly and caring. Dr Kevin McKerrow is an amazing dermatologist. He has so many lasers and I’m so thankful he has invested in having these available. Yes the treatments are expensive but you are paying for his expertise and also quality equipment.I have had terrible scaring and his knowledge and expertise is 11/10. He is the only experienced laser dermatology clinic in the North Island there is no other place like this. His lasers are top quality brands I highly recommend if you have scarring that you go and see him.

Dr Kevin McKerrow is easily the most arrogant and rude specialist I have come across. He made me feel very small and kept saying how this might work, or it may not. He was very testy with me and I basically sat there and didn't feel like I could ask questions. It was a dreadful experience. I have since found other help and my rosacea has calmed down alot. I will be getting laser at some point but it will be at a practice where people are treated with care and kindness.

I went to see Dr Kevin Mckerrow yesterday morning for a consultation about my stretch marks after my two pregnancy’s. I did not have a pleasant experience, I found Dr Mckerrow arrogant and rude. He rattled off different treatment options and the realities of it not being a guaranteed getting the results I’m after (which I am aware of and very realistic around the complexities of stretch marks). But instead of just leaving it there, he continued to make rude assumptions around my finances, commenting how I was a young mum, “maybe if you won lotto it would be a different story” and so forth… I had to ask if he could please email through all the information and options we talked about and he seemed a bit taken aback as it was like he convinced himself that I would never be able to afford anything we had talked about even though I never mentioned anything about my financial situation. I left the appointment feeling pretty icky and when I debriefed about it with a family member I found out another family member and a family friend had actually also had the same doctor (for different skin conditions) and had also had awful experiences! I will definitely not be returning to this clinic and this “young mum” will be paying for treatment elsewhere. Very disappointed!

Today I went for an initial consult at the Skin Specialist Centre with one of their specialist nurses regarding laser treatment. Thanks Lizzie! . From the moment I stepped in I knew I was in good hands. The staff are very medically literate… I far prefer their medically robust approach rather than the so-often “false “ promises from beauty salons . Even Dr McKerrow popped his head in to give me more information. I highly recommend he and his team. Can’t wait to start working with them. Thank you

I had mors surgery to remove a Basal Cell Carcinoma off the area between upper lip and lower nose. It was quite a large hole that required incision to come down the side of my left nostril across the upper lip area and down the side of my lip to the join of top lip and lower lip. This surgery was done in October 2022. Today there is barely a scar to show where I had extensive surgery. In fact it is such an amazing job that anyone is hard pressed to see the actual surgery line. I have had previous mors surgery to my nose by Dr McKerrow and the high level of recovery is just the same. I highly recommend this surgeon.
