Flavorless biryaniLooks like coloured rice mixed with bit of chicken,From belfast to Kaipoi is bit of travel but looking on star rating I ordered from this restaurant,The manager answered the call was very friendly appreciate apparently food flavour is no no .

DO NOT ORDER ONLINE - CALL FOR TAKEAWAYS!Trying to support a local business, our family has ordered twice from Indian Lotus, the first time was a couple of years ago when we ordered via the website but did not receive a confirmation via email and were told when I called to check that the order had not come through. No worries, I figured it happens and technology has its moments. We placed the order again via phone, waited for another 20-25 mins to collect and the food was fine.Last night I thought I’d try again via the website, placing an order at 6:05pm and receiving confirmation of payment but no ETA for pick up. At 6:35pm we went to collect the order thinking that should be plenty of time, but once again were told that despite the email confirmation and despite the money being taken from my account, no order had been received. Again, we placed the order and waited for around 20 mins for the food, which was fine, but unremarkable (we had butter chicken, chicken tikka masala and naan).I’m not sure why this restaurant still has the option to order online when it clearly doesn’t work. Going by the response I got from staff this is a regular occurrence, which might be acceptable if the food was amazing, but doesn’t seem worth putting up with for a meal similar to what you’d get in a mall food court. We will be going elsewhere in the future.

Great food! Just don’t order online. Waited an hour and a half no sign of the food on a Sunday night, would recommend calling or going in - seems a bit faster for service :) Fantastic food though

After completing a local Waimak River walk (Kaiapoi Island) I ordered a takeaway from Indian Lotus. There was a bit of delay on when the curries were going to be ready but no problem as there is a great bar next door called Urban Revival. Chicken Kadai is really good. Great service. Free parking at the door.

By far the best Indian in and around the kaiapoi area. Great food, great pricing and portion size. Also knows what Hot" Means which is rare in my experience."
