MyKindy Mt Wellington

My kids have attended Kidstown since they were babies. It is a fantastic daycare for all age groups. It has a beautiful natural environment and really nurturing staff. The kids feel like part of the family/community here and have an amazing learning experience.

This was an amazing daycare, with a great homely feel, unfortunately that is no longer the case. Since the new owner/management took over almost all the teachers have left and families are now too. Would not recommend to anyone.

I recently withdrew my son from MyKindy due to a number of issues from a managerial/ownership level. There have been a high number of teacher resignations in a very short period of time. My son experienced a number of different teachers/relievers during his short time at MyKindy and although they were all of a high standard, the inconsistency left him feeling more unsettled. I did not feel confident in the management of MyKindy and would not recommend the centre to other parents.

Thank you for all the care and love you have shown Charlotte, she has really come out of her shell and blossomed while in your care. I'm going to miss Kidstown heaps - all the lovely friendly faces in the morning and afternoon, the beautiful stories of Charlotte's day that she shares with me in the car. All the mahi that you all put in to ensure the tamariki have fun, engaging and exciting learning everyday has shaped all their lives for years to come. You're the only daycare I know that takes the children on hikoi up the mountain and sets aside a budget to buy fly larvae for the various pets you keep. You guys are the best! Every morning I know that I am leaving Charlotte in very good hands and that she will be stimulated and have the best day - that has made a huge difference for me as her mother.So keep fighting the good fight, and don't compromise on the needs of the children - you have been one of the most predictable, stable environments for Charlotte, especially with the COVID restrictions in the last 2 years. I am so thankful that I found you as our daycare 3 years ago. Thank you again for nurturing Charlotte's formative years.Much love Charlotte + Adora Lindsay

This used to be a really special centre and place for the kids to learn with an amazing community. Unfortunately the new Owners meant this gradually deteriorated. The teachers always cared for the kids and were amazing but have no management support and Owners that wish to take on board no parent feedback or staff feedback.It’s really sad to see people prioritising money over children and staff welfare. The Owners should invest in another sector that would be more befitting of their communication and management style.

We have sadly had to remove our child after 2.5 years at this centre. Since becoming part of the MyKindy chain, nearly every single amazing teacher has left, the animals are gone and there are no more excursions. There’s a mass exodus of families including nearly 30 who have signed their name to a formal complaint to the Ministry of Education. The well-being and safety of children was not prioritised and we would not recommend enrolling there.

The standard of this daycare has dropped tremendously after the change in ownership around 9 months ago. Not only do they not take on feedback but do not put children or staff welfare at the heart of what they do anymore. We had to pull our 3.5yo out as it got so bad. There’s plenty of other daycare options so wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone.

Similar to other parents, we have pulled our child recently from the 2-5 age group room. Our experience was initially amazing when the business was KidsTown. After being acquired by MyKindy quality of care gradually decreased. Good young teachers left citing lack of mentorship, then good senior teachers left as well citing lack of support from center management and burn out.There are still good teachers there that try hard, but the culture from the top is fundamentally bad and they're fighting an uphill battle.I would not choose to send my child here while it's still owned by the MyKindy franchise.

Hi there, one of the best daycare in new zealand. I can leave my son Leon with my eyes closed. I know he is going to explore, learn and play and being loved there. The teachers are best , they all are caring and help my son to come out of his nut shell. When we started kidstown, i am very nervous that how my son going to adjust but with all their love, i become so relaxed and see my son growing in a wonderful little man. Your trips to mountains, station are so cool, Leon loves them.Thank you Nikki for being you.I will always remember you all❤

Only amazing things to say about Kidstown. Both of our children absolutely loved their time there, and received such a high level of support, encouragement and genuine care.We love how they get to go for adventures up the Mountain and around the neighbourhood, learn how to look after the many pet animals onsite, and grow and harvest vegetables and cook with those in the kitchen.A wonderful place for children to learn and develop. Would not hesitate to recommend Kidstown.
