Amarin Thai Traditional Massage

In Wellington for a short holiday and decided to treat myself to a (hopefully) good Thai massage. I was not disappointed. I highly recommend Amarin.I've had Thai and other style massage all over the world, I mostly prefer Thai deep tissue massage (it hurts so good!). I always feel that an hour isn't long enough for my the masseuse to get through my big body but on this experience they did an admirable job.I recently injured my back and they were very conscious and obliging around my concern and managed to still work me I to a sweat, knead those darn knots our of my muscles and help me relax and recharge.The price was a bit higher than what I usually pay in Auckland ($65) but it was within walking distance of my hotel (5 min) and the only legit looking Thai massage place in the CBD. Which makes the price totally worth it.I will be back again.

This was my first traditional Thai massage and omg it was fantastic. Dee Dee hands were like magic and she found every sore spot in my body. She was firm but also gentle if my muscles were really tight. She took very good care of me. I highly recommend to anyone who needs a firm but also relaxing massage. Dee Dee I'm coming to see you when I visit Wellington again.

A few tips if you want to try out this place:1. The place is buried under a narrow suspicious staircase next a parking lot. The interior is feeling unsurprisingly like a dungeon. If you are claustrophobic, this is not the right massage place for you.2. Be aware, they do NOT take credit card, and they don't tell you when you book either. The nearest ATM is 10 min walk away.3. Although their website says $75 for 60 min of Thai massage with oil, it is only the price of relaxing" one. You will find out at the front desk the regular deep pressure Thai style is actually $85. So prepare your cash accordingly.Judging the massage itself alone

The massage was good but the massage therapist had a full on conversation with the therapist in the room next to mine during my 60min session - it was really distracting. The massages were a bit more expensive than what they stated on their website as well. I’ve definitely had a better Thai Massage experiences at other spas.

Easily one of the best massages I’ve ever had. My masseuse was so kind, professional, and great at what she does. The other guy who showed up seemed a bit useless, but it’s a holiday and maybe he was filling in? No matter, she made it impossible to be anything other than delighted with the experience. I highly recommend treating yourself to a massage here. I did the 90 minute oil massage and I’m refraining from having another one tomorrow!

I came here because of the good reviews thinking it would be an authentic Thai massage. However, I was very disappointed! She started 5 minutes late and disappeared half way through for another 5 minutes so the whole massage was only 50 min and not 1 hour. She basically just rubbed (way too much) oil on me and said that if I wanted more pressure that would be more expensive. I couldn't believe it! It was still 75 dollars for 50 min so the least I expected was a decent massage, but no! I wouldn't recommend!

Great place for relaxing and deep tissue massage! Dee is very professional. Super friendly and accomodating. Made me feel relaxed from the get go.Can only recommend this place. It is a bit hidden, so just follow the sign, down the stairs. It’s tucked away nicely so you won’t hear the street noise of the Terrace. Great for a quick lunch break holiday.

Didi is an amazing therapist. Friendly and listens to what you want and asks if she is doing things well.

Amarin Thai is the best massage place in town. The place is very clean, the staff are friendly and professional! Didi is very honest and hardworking. Definitely worth a visit if you are having aches and pains.

I highly recommend this place.I have been coming here for several years and have always been extremely happy with the massages I receive and the professionalism of their service.All of the therapists are trained in traditional Thai massage and provide strong or less-strong massage. They have always made sure to understand any problems that I have and to make sure that the massages are working to address those. I appreciate how they ask and adapt their technique in subsequent visits if I, or they, think the results could be improved. The additional stretching they can provide has been helpful to me. Since I have been coming most of the therapists have been Thai.
