Went for Sushi at the Silverdale store around 4.45pm on Saturday, only to find the store pretty much packed up with staff scrubbing down equipment. For a store that is supposed to be open until 7, this is not exactly enticing as a consumer considering that the left overs" of the day are out of the display area and placed on top of the counter close to the drinks chiller. Will have to try the Whangaparāoa store next time."

One of the beat Sushi shops in Silverdale. Try the Sushi of the day! You find carparks around. Friendly Staff. Handy location. High quality. Highly recommended.

Once I ordered a tofu roll, after finishing I looked down to find a rogue piece of salmon. I'm vegan, I did not order any sort of salmon. Gross finding unwanted raw seafood mixed in with my tofu roll. Anyway that's not why I'm writing this review. My partner had gone to this same resturuant before our road trip and it was around 6pm so they had their sushi on the front counter. I found this odd because I assumed sushi should be refrigerated always. Well 8 hours later my partner was vomiting violently. She had clearly been food poisoned. This lasted 24 hours, the bulk of our trip. She had to spend all of it in bed unable to eat for nearly 48 hours.

One of the unfriendliest branches I have been too. I asked a staff member behind the counter a question about sushi that she was busy making, all she said was NO"

despite the white man's idea of what good sushi is and saying st Pierre's is cheap and junky, I, an actual japanese can tell you it's pretty much as authentic as it gets in new Zealand. quality may be slightly inconsistent, freshly made is obviously going to be better than ones sitting out (size is unfortunately getting smaller but that's about all that's bad). while I'm sure, with huge efforts, you may be able to find better sushi at a proper restaurant for much bigger prices, more expensive does not = better, and authentic looking restaurant names are often not that authentic, just like when Chinese takeaways call themselves European.

We had some miso soup and the mikando platter of different types of sushi. Loved it and loved it more with wasabi and soy sauce on top!!!

Rice is not top of my list to start with but I do eat it and cook with it. I get the Prawn Tails, Shrimps and immitation Crab meat ( Canadian Pollock fish reconstituted), covered in a seafood dressing and a squeeze of lemon . Otherwise it's either their chicken, salmon, rolled up with rice and you can add horseradish for some heat and drizzle some wasabi.
