Hokitika's Regent Theatre

Great movie theater. A credit to everyone who restored the building and who work there. Always raining g when we come out, oh well that's The Coast.

Loved this little old theatre. They show mainstream and a little more obscure films as well so there's something for everyone. This was perhaps the crispest screen I've ever watched a movie on and sound was great as well! Large popcorn was $5.

Our team at Ornsby Motorcycle Training hired the Reynolds Room over the weekend to hold the classroom segment of our Ride Forever courses.Brent and his team were very accommodating, going above and beyond to help ensure that everything went smoothly for our instructor.It was a very cool set up for our training. Historic theater, has by community contributions been really well restored, the owner has been there running long standing historic cinema with tremendous variety of showings throughout the day for 40 years in this charming theater full of local spice to life and good cheer.The chairs are amply comfortable and genuinely roomy, since the theater is quite open, bring your friends.Good ice cream and snacks available, dinner at Stumpys pub restaurant across the Street is also an excellent compliment to the day. Bicycles welcome.An aquatics pool is next door too so it's really a one stop shop spot for recreation and Hokitika entertainment.The screen is huge, sound a little hazy, but clear enough to get the diction. 89%, of the show,Well worth the price:)Good advice for viewing is worth the ask.

Enjoyed a Concert by the NZ Highwaymen in the lovely Art Deco Regent Theatre. The predominant hair colour was silvery grey, the sound and acoustics were perfect and the atmosphere was exactly what the music needed. Started off toe tapping, progressed to singing along and finished on our feet dancing. A great night out.

The Regent Theatre is awesome. I saw Avatar 2 in 3D in the comfy boutique screening room. Very comfy seat for 3hrs.

I was having a discussion with my wife when was the last time we went to the movies. Neither of us could remember . So we went to the 2pm session , The Uncharted , excellent movie . Not to many there but on the plus side we didn't have to rush to get outside . Staff friendly and helpful . And very clean toilets .

Great Cinema, lovely staff. Two Cinemas, one small with comfortable armchairs and sofas and the other large with old fashioned Cinema chairs. Popcorn, ice cream, the usual drinks and lollies available. Well worth it if your stopping in Hokitika.
