Lovely beach. Space for driving on the beach, nice waves. Request for public to use pathways to the beach to save the dunes. Wide sand beach, big parking area. Not crowded, even over long weekend break.

Truly gorgeous beach! Beautiful sand, easy access and decent facilities too. Not a fan of people driving around on the beach when there’s lots of kids, but maybe that’s something that tickles your fancy, in which case this is a plus.

Another lovely day at Foxton Beach. The wind was cool, but only a zephyr, so it was nice. Waves were even and breaking nicely. No surfers even though it looked okay for them. The Manawatu River was running out to sea very strongly, it would have been tricky to get any vessel across the bar, fortunately there were no sailors out.

You can drive your car on the beach, i drove my toyota wish on the beach easily...no issues. Also you can cast your line anywhere at the beach.

Was a cold and wet day when we went but still lovely. Hadn't been there since I was younger me, brought back memories, good ones.Alot has changed since way back then lol.There was a Whanau with there horses ready to go for a trek on the beach.I will return.

We had a picnic lunch in Foxton beach and loved it. Parking was easy and good access to the beach. On the day of our visit the wind was moderate and the day was cloudy, however there were lots of people walking, swimming and even driving. Although the beach was full of people where we were we had lunch in a little dune away from the general population. Dog friendly too which we thoroughly enjoyed. The only negative were the state of the public toilets but to be fair we visited on a Saturday so not sure how often or at all when and if they are cleaned on weekends. Would hope so

A beautiful ocean beach at the township of Foxton Beach. It is gazetted as a public highway as well as a recreational beach. Four wheel drive is recommended, due to the soft sand at the beach entrance/ exits. There is a Surf Lifesaving Club beside the carpark, where there is ample free parking. I believe it is a safe swimming area, although it is recommended that swimmers remain between the flags. There is a migratory bird sanctuary at the southern end of the beach, beside the Manawatu River estuary.

Its driving beach you can drive you car through the beach. Only 4wd cars . Lo car parking space is available. Not too crowded. You should bring food items no coffee shop available here.
