Hands down for thw best camping spot in the whole southern island. I just cant believe there is such an amazing place with sink for the dishes and toilet.Good reception too! On the southermost point there is! Also there is a beach, dip in the sea/lake if you want.The only thing, there are two roads to get to it. Apparently one of them is only for 4WH so take the right one or you can be in a lot of trouble!

Perfect free spot coming from the penguins sighting.24h open toilets with flush, water and lights.Flat area for enough self-contained vehicles.Free of charge. Maximum 1 night stay per month.Good internet signal. Rubbish bins and fountain.

This was a lovely freedom camping spot, right next to an estuary that is beautiful if the sun is shining, particularly for sunset and sunrise. You can collect cockles and blueberries nearby if you want too. Basic but clean toilet and a natural sink. Others have commented on needing a 4WD but unless conditions are terrible I can’t see why!

⚠️Warning⚠️ Do not go down 4wd track (School rd) if you're in a 2wd, prepare to slide down the hill for 1.5km! (Go the other route!!) Other than that.... beautiful campsite! There is a water supply, fine long drop and large grass area that is good for tents.

Great freedom camping spot! Good that you can save some water and do the dishes in the sink, just make sure to use biodegradable dishwasher liquid since there is no real drain. Also, take the Weir Road to the camping, the other road requires 4WD. The toilet is non flush, saw that another comment here that I believe is from another camping spot with better facilities.

Very beautiful site to stay, one clean toilet and a sink for your dishes. Don't need anything else really, plenty of grass and natural fence. Beautiful surroundings. Very chilled place.Getting there is not bad, we have 2wd van and had no difficulty.Check out the little art hidden in the big tree!

We were here and also campervan and mobile homes park hereIt is accessible for everyone. Take care which road you wanna driveRoad is good accessible with a van, take the WEIR RD for non 4WD.Not accessible road: School RD.

This review has got nothing to do with the camp site, but more to it having no clear instructions that it should not be attempted by non 4x4s.Do not even attempt to come in if you are not driving a 4x4. Once you are in there’s literally no way you can do a U turn.
