Awful customer service and over charge. When I pick up car on 27/11/2022, fuel is not full and it was 489KM range remaining. I return car on 05/12/2022, fuel tank is higher than I pick it up. But I still been charge $65 for refuel and reason is do not return with full tank fuel. They sent me wrong images as evidence (Odo km is less than I pick up car). I tried to discuss with customer service team member, they hanged up my call immediately.

Very disappointed with the car we received (2012 Toyota Vitz) compared to what we ordered online. We had the following issues with it:- Head lights flickered- Cigarette lighter/Charging port didn’t work- Charging port/USB slot in multimedia unit barely had enough juice to maintain my phone’s battery while driving, let alone charge it- No spray function for the front windscreen wipers making it impossible to clean while driving long distance- Volume control nob was missing- Scratched windows- Chipped and faded paint on the roofOverall, very unimpressed with the car we paid for that needed to take us up and down the north island. I guess they truly did live up to the ‘discount’ part of their name.

WOULD NOT RECOMMEND THIS COMPANY!This car was given in THIS condition. As a customer, would you accept this? We were told this car was cleaned before we picked it up.The windscreen is filthy and there is NO windscreen wiper fluid.The customer service is questionable. As an unhappy customer I have been made to feel like an inconvenience for a service I am paying for? And told “that’s what’s you paid for”We have a usual rental car company but decided to try this place as we are regular customers with Flyaways. What a shame.

It was a great experience. Affordable prices, convenient airport transfers. Warm-hearted staff and service. The vehicle is powerful. Five-star praise.

WOULD NOT RECOMMEND. After one night of driving, our coolant light came on. Luckily we were still in Auckland and they let us come exchange cars. However, the coolant light was on in the new car and we would not allow it. They said “all other cars have this too and no other customer minds”. They they proceed to fill the coolant with WATER and say that’s fine to do in NZ (quick google search shows it is not fine). We ended up renting from Avis, so if you were choosing Discount car because they’re cheaper, don’t bother because you’ll ultimately rent from a legitimate company anyway.

Car was old but ok. After 2 months(!) of renting we returned it 4 days early, but never got the promised refund for 2 days. Just no reaction anymore, despite several emails.

Picked up the vehicle in the small hours at Auckland Airport and headed to our hotel in the city.Quickly realised there was no Bluetooth or USB charging point available in the car and had a 6-hour drive ahead of us next day.The vehicle brakes were awful; juddery and faded often.The steering wheel shook at speeds around 100km/h.The rear doors had used tissues in the pockets.I had called the office a week or two before to ask a couple of questions that needed answering. After a fairly hostile 'chat' the lady said she'd ring me back with some info. I never heard from her again and emailed the main office. Still no response.Just go to a reputable car hire company, even if you have to pay a bit more.

Whatever you do stay totally clear of this company.The car rental agency is not at the airport it’s at least 10minute drive from the airport.Most flights do not arrive in Auckland between 9-5pm so your going to have to pay their after hours shuttle fees just to get you to their car pickup which are $70+ each way. Which is basically robbery for a $10Minute drive as I can get an Uber all the way across the city for that price at any hour of the day.Also The person you call to pick you up won’t give you clear instructions on where to wait and they are just driving around with a mobile in their hand and not really caring too much about how long you will wait for their next return trip to pickup more passengers.I prepaid for a phone holder and it didn’t work and fell off the window.The vehicle didn’t have rear automatic window rollers (they were manual), not sure how I guess that’s still an option in that model of vehicle for the cheapest possible model? Why would they buy that to rent out though?My deposit took weeks to be released back to me and I had to call them and hassle them about it. They finally send me a receipt for it but it was someone else’s receipt so I had to ask for it again.Today I called about a parking ticket I got while driving the car to try to pay them or work out what to do and they asked me to call back on Saturday. ??Everything Just totally disorganised and unfair with this company I’m just never using them again period.Just fees out the yin Yang without any consideration of how ridiculous it is. Pay the extra $10 and go with any other car rental agency to give yourself a peace of mind.
