i had battered blue cod and chips at this chippie today, while staying locally overnight. the batter was crisp and well cooked. The blue cod was fresh and flaky. Not oily or greasy. The chips were also freshly cooked and crisp. Overall, a really good takeaway dinner!

This is the only place in the Upper Riccarton aera that I can find which makes their own chips. Not overly drained so they are nice and moist, plenty of large chips and great large burger.

Upper Riccarton Fish Supply
Ordered 2 blue cod, they only had crumbed not battered. When we got home we discovered it wasn’t actually blue cod that we laid $8.50 a piece for, but some thin nasty fish that had clearly been in a deep freeze for a long period of time. Very disappointing considering they are charging top dollar for the fish. Feel very ripped off and will not be returning.

Have been going here for about 8 months. Awesome food when the father is working but a few times now have had poor service and not well prepared food at all when the son has been working. Definitely a go to if the father is working but a miss if it's the son. A shame really.

Proper thick cut chips, a rarity these days, and perfectly cooked - crispy but not overdone. Fish and burger were good, not the best I've ever had, but not bad for the price. Friendly service. The 3.8 average score here seems unfairly low compared to others in the area. Will be back.

Upper Riccarton Fish Supply
I would travel to Chch once a month for work (from Auck.) and am glad to have discovered the best Fish and Chip shop in the country. The decor is dated, however, the hand-made chips are to die for, such large cuts and perfectly cooked. The fish and the Bluff Oysters (when in season) are also perfectly cooked. Truly delicious and good service too.

With their prices being cheaper than other nearby fish and chip shops I expected the food to maybe not be as tasty but wow was I wrong!! Fish was one of best I have had and chips were well cooked too. Keep up the good work!

absolute joke. today i ordered a chicken and cheese burger that was 9 dollars!!!! by the way and it’s it was horrible ! the buns were burnt black or both side and it is inedible, the fish that i got was over cooked and chips were just no good, and get this, we were the first costumers, WE GOT THERE WHEN HE OPENED so he was not busy doing other things, mind you i work at a fish and chip shop and we would not let this slide, overall horrible experience and will not be coming back.

My go-to for fish and chips! Super high quality. My favourite menu item is the pineapple ring - it's absolutely delightful. Their scoop sizes of chips are huge - much larger than most fish and chip shops. Excellent value for money, and friendly service. Definitely worth checking out

Very nice fish and chips.I ordered a potato fritter as well as I was quite hungry. Didn't need to as I got a huge scoop of chips. Highly recommended.
