The Grout & Tile Doctor

*******************Avoid at all costs. Here is my letter of complaint. It bests sums up our dreadful experience with these cowboys. Even I could have performed a better job. Overpriced and under deliverd BE WARNED!!*********************I don’t know where to start..Oh what about here – Firstly thanks for the concerned call back yesterday!However I shouldn’t be surprise should I? - in the sense of your caring yet cavalier attitude in trying to rectify a shoddy mess in what you’ve done to our bathroomI really should have trusted my instinct when you never returned calls or texts to begin with. Yet I persisted in offering you a job. How wrong of me..So we had a simple request Niel – In January of this year we asked you to remove the bathroom shower tile grouting and sealant. Then to replace with what I stated as WHITE POOL cement. We then asked you to reseal the trim whilst taking care to use a vast amount in sections that were cut too high.I also asked you to replace a kitchen floor tile.So let’s start.You made 3 visits in total over 6 monthsFirst you were only at our place til midday latest which screamed you hadn’t done the job correctly. A messy greeting ensured and I was literally gobsmacked you hadn’t even cleaned up after yourself!Then the sealant was shoddily removed and smeared around the corners of the bath. I had to finish the job and tidy up. Then I noticed the grouting…Well contrary to belief - it never dried and NEVER turned white. Subsequent shower use enabled crumbling each time it went wet. I restricted myself to even washing the tiles for major concern of erosion.I even gave you the benefit of the doubt that it would dry and turn white. Even whilst being overseas for 3 weeks - would it finally dry?When back - I made a concern to you that it was ‘yet’ to turn white. You assured me it would indeed change colour. Well it never did! Under closer inspection I then noticed you blatantly lied about removing the original grouting because the crap you used was a different colour simply smeared over the original ‘white’ grouting as the cracks and damage I asked you to remove clearly presented themselves underneath again!!My wife also pointed out you scuffed the floor tile to which we asked you to replace. Yet, your conniving ways meant you would not even mention that you had damaged it. Did you think we wouldn’t notice?So we asked you to remedy – here you made all sorts of excuses, like “I was sure the label said this” and “I don’t know why it hasn’t turned white” or “it’ a different type of white grouting” etc..So your final answer and final visit- is to cover our tiles with a film of crap that supposedly will turn the sealant white and provide a buffer between the moisture. Well, let’s say IT STILL GREY and all that crap needs to be scrapped off the tiles now, making the bathroom even worse!You originally mentioned it would remove itself over 2 weeks. Well, I can tell you now mate – its baked on buddy! No amount of water will wipe that crap off!Here I also noticed you cracked a lower part of the wall tile that connects to the bath and neglected to seal the corners properly. I spent an hour in the shower scrapping it off to return the tiles to their natural colour. And guess what the grouting is still patchy and grey!So all in all a terrible job, a waste of my time and more importantly our money. Because of you I will have to find someone else to do the job properly as I truly think you have NO IDEA in what you’re doing.I do wonder how you can sleep at night taking hard working peoples money…. The term ‘Cowboy’ inherently springs to mind!
